Expensive & watch out for hidden costs

We stayed at Rostrevor for a week. We were a group of seven, all adults, two families, stayed in two double bed suits. Excellent location, beautiful see views and very clean. Nice pool. However, there were some areas where we felt we were scammed. We had bed and breakfast paid at the time of booking. It was full breakfast. We did not realise that we had to pay extra for breakfast which we felt was sneaky. My daughter used conference room for one early morning to sit her online postgraduate medical examination. We were charged for that. This somewhat spoilt our fun. If you are staying at this hotel, watch out for hidden breakfast charges.. In summary, we enjoyed our stay for a week due to its nice location, clean swimming pool, cleanliness and beautiful views from balcony. However, it is expensive and the hidden costs, without considering the local taxes, will pinch your wallet.

They hotel is very clean and right on the beach. There are several restaurants across the street. It rained most days but it only rained for a few minutes each day. Try to get a room behind the check in area those are the newer rooms. The only issue we had was the seaweed was in bloom when we arrived so we could not use the beach behind the hotel. We had a very good time and can not wait to return.

We had to leave our AirBNB due to some issues of the villa we were staying at. We needed a place to stay for the remainder of our trip. We asked folks on Facebook, and this place was highly recommended. We rented the penthouse for the 3 of us (2 adults, 1 11-year old). There was a bedroom with a queen and a livingroom with a sofabed. Full kitchen. It was AWESOME. Beautiful views, wrap around porch. Pool was large with plenty of seating. The breakfast/lunch spot was decent! Beautiful views of the water. And easy access to restaurants and bars. Place was also VERY clean-housekeeping was great. AC worked beautifully. Full fridge/freezer space. There is also laundry on site. We will be staying here again when we return in a few years. THANK YOU!

Second visit to the Rostrevor Hotel. Repeat visit because it met all our requirements first time and didn't disappoint for second visit. Located on a vibrant part of St Lawrence Gap, but the seafront of the hotel serves as an oasis of calm when you want to retreat from the busy bars and restaurants. There's less of a beach there than promotional photos suggest, but that wasn't too much of an issue as Dover Beach is a short walk away, and other beaches such as Carlisle Bay can easily be reached via hire car or ZR taxis. It's not luxury, but it is very comfortable. Best thing about Rostrevor is the lovely staff (be it reception, bar or housekeeping), they are a real asset to the hotel. Would definitely go again.
