I’m not sure where to start because it was so weird. Unfortunately, we booked and paid for this place in advance, and it was nonrefundable. Upon checking in, we immediately left after discovering that we were the only people on property and finding bugs in the bed. We did not stay there and I would like a refund

My husband and I originally planned to celebrate our anniversary in Turks & Caicos but because of the concerns with crime, chose Exuma instead. My husband has always wanted to stay in an over the water villa so when I told him about the houseboats, he was sold. We booked 10 nights. I emailed Mary often to ask questions and request a table for my husband’s cpap machine, distilled water, bleach and a bucket for cleaning shells. Mary answered all questions promptly. She eased my concerns about staying on an island with no car. There are no roads or cars here. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and a water taxi to bring us over to the resort. That’s when we met Chacho. Mary greeted us on arrival and showed us to the houseboat. It had a slide, cooktop, microwave, keurig and small couch. My husband loved the slide. After 6 nights, we asked to upgrade to the ocean bungalow and I am SO glad that we did. If you are on a budget and want to save money by eating in and smells don’t bother you, the houseboat may be a great option. The houseboat is like being in a cruise ship room. I love the rocking and it helped me sleep because the electric cuts off several times during the night ( not just twice as noted), and I sleep with a fan phone app to help me sleep, the ac had to be turned off and on to reset or it got hot, there’s a faint sewer smell in the room especially by the bed which was driving me crazy and I didn’t care as much during the day because we weren’t in the room all day. My husband smelled it briefly when the toilet flushed, so we kept the bathroom door shut. He didn’t smell it by the bed because he slept on the outside and the smell we discovered was because the pipes run under the bed along the wall. I hated climbing over him to get out of bed, especially sun burned. We did mention the sewage smell and electric issues to staff. It is noted that because the property is run on solar, it switches over twice a day but it happens for hours every night. The ability to cook in the houseboat saved money and was convenient. It was also very clean. “ Make it happen Mary “ as we started calling her because she made any and all requests happen showed us to the king bungalow that we paid to upgrade to. It was AMAZING and we regretted not switching sooner. No smell here and no frequent electrical outings During our stay, we only encountered one other couple, who were from Canada staying at the resort. They had the same issues in their houseboat and we told them about the bungalow. Waking up to sunrise, having the little porch, the large bathroom and bed was a great upgrade. It was worth every penny. I’m glad we got to experience both types of accommodations because they are very unique and different. We loved the beach here as we practically had it to ourselves. I went snorkeling and found amazing shells. The beach here is absolutely wonderful. We made arrangements with “Make it happen Mary” for all water taxi transportation rides with Chaco. Chaco was very friendly and always smiling. He was helpful and always on time. We really liked him and tipped him well. The black cat on the property has bit some people but I fed and pet her every day and she never bit me. She followed me around and I looked forward to seeing her every day. We enjoyed our stay here overall and would most definitely recommend it to anyone. It was very relaxing, laid back, and beautiful. I did a separate review for the restaurant.

What a fabulous vacation! The views are breathtaking, the food is delicious and the service is fantastic. Desmond, Delvina, Shantel and Kara were always super friendly and accommodating. The resort is not fancy, but very comfortable and relaxing, and situated in a beautiful location. We hope to visit again one day!

This place is a simple relaxing no rush type of resort. Staff is amazing and food is good. Centrally located in walking or boating distance to fun beach bars with good vibes. Grocery store is a boat shuttle away (10min). We enjoyed the simplicity and quietness of St Francis. Views are wonderful the the beaches incredible. The other guests are also great and friendships made.
