Sakti Garden Resort & Spa

We thought the Sakti Garden Hotel was great. We loved the ambience and the friendly and most helpful staff. They organized drivers who served as guides so that visiting places easy to do. The room was spectacular and a good value. The on site restaurant was very good. There are numerous stairs to go up and down, which provide your daily exercise!

Sakti Garden Resort is the best hotel I have ever stayed at during my world travels. The rooms are spacious, well appointed in classic Balinese style, and very comfortable and private. The resort is so well laid out and makes you feel as though you are in a jungle. But best of all, are the staff- they really make the place extra special. Always a smile, and they go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. The manager is a genuinely sweet man and super interesting. During my visit to Ubud, after staying at Sakti Gardens for a couple of nights, I checked out and moved closer to downtown as per my original itinerary plan. I tried two different resorts and they were no comparison at all to Sakti. So, I decided to head right back to Sakti Gardens to enjoy the rest of my vacation there- in luxury.

With a price tag of a resort, this has a lot to live up to. Staff are exceptionally attentive at this resort- we observed staff training here. It is interesting to observe, as it was like watching the early days of Pan-Am when the standard was so high. The resort is stunning, set amidst a lush tropical background it will be sure to impress and it did. From the balcony of our rooms we could see the rice fields near by. There is a shuttle offered into the township daily- drop off points differ with the drivers. The first one we experienced was right next to the palace ( ideal!!! ) the second time we ended up in a carpark some way from the palace. The breakfasts that are included are good. There is a wonderful selection of fruit that changes daily. The breakfasts change daily - there was one particular day where they had the most divine noodles. I met with friends at this resort after finding it in a brochure at my local travel agent. It sounded appealing for my first trip to Indonesia because it was advertised as a traditional Balinese village. I did make use of the spa and found it okay. The swimming pool was fabulous with a swim-up bar. The lobby area was well utilised by us as we enjoyed sitting around chatting, as was the area near the pool. To note if you have mobility issues, this resort is not for you as there are a lot of stairs. Someone will help you to and from your rooms with your luggage, but every day you are going to feel like you had a work out just going to and from you room. If you are looking for somewhere to reset and leave the busyness of your life ... this is it. You are a long way from anywhere and maybe their yoga classes will be appealing to you. I feel that the resort has a bit of work to do with connecting to the local community- in as much as they could work hand in hand with a tour operator to offer a few day trips.

The staff here are very friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure everything is well. The location is a good base to explore further afield, by vehicle (they are happy to help arrange this) or by foot. We walked through surrounding rice fields and had some incredible views. The pool is a good temperature and has a lovely swim up bar. The beds are the biggest ever and very comfortable and clean. The food is exceptional, every dish we had was delicious and made with local ingredients.
