Sandals Halcyon Beach

Dawn and Tameka from the spa were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us fit spa treatments into our trip and always ensured we were comfortable. Also, Sassy Sam was so funny and kept the vibes high by the pool. The food was solid and the beach was on the smaller side but still lovely and we never had a problem finding chairs. The sunsets were amazing!

We just returned from our Honeymoon at Halcyon Beach! From the moment we stepped off the shuttle in the lobby, we felt extremely welcomed by the entire Sandals staff. Each and every lobby staff member was so kind and helpful with answering our questions. We had great dining experiences at each restaurant that Halcyon had to offer. We honestly cannot think of one complaint. One of our favorite parts of the trip was getting to know the bartender, Daween, at the beach bar. He was so kind and made the best drinks for us. We even challenged him several times saying, “surprise us”, when ordering a drink and each time he provided us with an amazingly refreshing drink! He was the best!

Resorts like Sandals Halcyon have a formula--some things get better over time, some stay static, others fade. Unlike mythical Halcyon Bird who was in a nest floating at sea at the winter solstice, charming the wind and waves into calm, this Halcyon had a blend of the above. First a shout out to the pros--our butlers Cristal, Tyler, Sean and Roland and activities gal Sassy Sam all deserve kudos as do our massage team in the Spa. who gave us a wonderful couples massage. All stood out and we appreciated their talents and kind spirits. The facility was built in 1991 as something else and certainly shows it's ages in places. There are some notably new sections but you pay a higher price. The real negative is the resort back up to the main Castries highway and you hear traffic all-day/night-long. Like most Caribbean resorts they run on a sliding time awareness but can be charming still. With the exception of Soy and Kimono wihich used al fresh ingredients, too many of the other dishes and buffets offered little fresh foods and buffets are really getting old. The beach is charming and the overall is much for manageable than their sister properties La Toc and The Grand but you do get the "Stay at One, Play at Three" value although traffic makes the commute awful. Personally the resort model that places like Sandals, Secrets and others offer feel like a tired concept in drastic need of a makeover. With Airb&b, VRBO gaining more prominence and offering a better price, its time these resort chains offer a new value proposition.

Our first time to ANY all-inclusive resort AND a sandals. Just want to say that the Butler Elite level room and our Butlers Sam(Samantha) and Willard made all the difference. They really went over and above to ensure all our needs were met and they and the experience exceeded our expectations. Our room was in a private little area of the resort yet close to everything. We were very pleased with all the food options available. The grounds were exceptional and the resort well maintained. Its a little more low key and chill than the other 2 sister resorts but it fit our needs. Already thinking of the next trip.

We were very lucky to have had our marriage ceremony whilst at Sandals Halcyon Beach resort. The whole holiday was absolutely amazing, and the wedding day was the 'icing on the cake' so to speak. The wedding team, Techla, Elizabeth and our Officiant, Anne Marie, along with Esme, who did my hair and make up, looked after us so well, and made us feel very specialthroughout our stay. Everything was organised to our specific requirements, and we couild not have asked for a more beautiful location. We are looking forward to going back there to our wedding anniversaries in the future. The resort's amenities suited our needs, with several restaurants and very friendly staff. We had a butler suite,and our butlers, Vibes, Pluta and Ria ensured that our needs were met, including providing an ice box filled with drinks by our beds on the beach every day. At times during the day we were disturbed by road noise (mainly from motorbikes travelling along the main road), but we appreciate that this was outside of the hotel staffs control.
