Official Description

Located on Jamaica's north coast, the resort is nestled between the green mountains of St. Ann and the Caribbean Sea. The centre of Ocho Rios is easily reached in around 15 minutes by car, Dunn's River Falls and Dolphin Bay are around 20 minutes away. Donald Sangster international airport in Montego Bay is around 1 hour 45 minutes away. The spacious grounds with a view of the Caribbean Sea lie on the gentle slopes of a 40 hectare parkland and is considered the true Garden of Eden. This magnificent landscaped resort has taken the meaning of 'lush' to a whole new level, with views including the blossoming gardens, the mountain and the ocean. The air-conditioned beach hotel includes 529 rooms over 4 floors, of which 256 are suites in the concierge suite centre in the Great House (manor). The lobby includes a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange and a lift. The resort also features a nightclub, an auditorium, restaurants, meeting facilities with A/V equipment and Internet access/WLAN. Room and laundry services are also available along with car parking for those arriving by car. All the rooms and suites include an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, cable TV, a radio alarm and a hire safe. In addition, there is individual air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a king-size bed, ironing set and a coffee machine. The Concierge rooms additionally offer a four-poster bed, a minibar and a fridge, as well as a CD player and bathrobes. There is a butler service available for selected suites and there is room service available for other accommodation categories.

Our experience at Ochi

On our last night in the resort we felt the need to share how our experience has been. We had such a wonderful honeymoon and shared so many beautiful memories. Apart from the ocean views and clear water, we met some amazing people along the way. At the ocean beach club pool bar, our favorite bartender each time was Zoe. She was lively and fun. She made the best drinks and shots for us and all of the friends we met. The entertainment at that pool was amazing and so fun to be a part of. The absolute best restaurant that we had the chance to eat at twice was Soy. The manager, Andrew, was without a doubt the nicest staff we met our entire trip. We first met him when he was helping out at Sweet Wood. He was so outgoing and made us excited to try his restaurant, Soy. He shared memories with us and made us feel so welcome and valued as a customer. All of the waitstaff at Soy were just phenomenal. They were by far the nicest and friendliest staff that we got the chance to dine with for this entire trip. They never made us feel like a burden or a problem. They were fun and social with us each time we went to the restaurant. Not every staff at this resort were nice or welcoming. We got ignored a few time or were made to feel like we had done something wrong. Those that made this trip great outshined the ones that weren’t the best. Another thing to note was us being constantly bomb barded by the photographers. We felt they were always trying to sell us something or were pushing us to make a photo session appointment when we didn’t want one. At a resort that claims it is “all inclusive” it would be nice to not have to pay extra for all these things. One more thing to mention is the room we were in. When we paid this much money to stay at the resort we expected to have a much nicer room than just a regular standard hotel room we could get anywhere. There are updates that need to be made to the room such as switching the appliances for newer and cleaner versions. There is rusting on the toilet fixtures and the bathtub was worn down and dirty. Update your hotel room features so that the guests feel they are getting the experience that they paid a LOT of money for.

Butler phone, beware of charge.

Everything was great up to the last day when we were getting ready to board the bus to the airport. Our butler caught us and said they were going to charge her for the phone that started mal functioning. I cannot believe Sandals would make the butlers pay for a phone that stopped working. We were able to use the phone the whole time and to the last day. It only started having lines down the side. We did not want her to pay, so we ended up paying the 150.00 fee. That is unbelievable that they stuck us with that.

Outstanding Experience!

We had an amazing time at Sandals Ochi! We were celebrating my bride to be's 50th Birthday, then got married and spent the rest of our stay honeymooning. They did a great job making each event special for us. They put us in the highest up ocean view with pool and butler villa so we had amazing views from the hillside of the entire area from both our semi-private pool and villa. This was our first time using the Butler service and with everything we were celebrating having them assist with all kinds of things was incredibly beneficial. Jason and Richard made everything special for us. Food was outstanding. The grounds are gorgeous. Service is top notch. The wedding services department was amazing. This location is awesome to me for what as I describe as a mountain beach with lush vegetation right up to the shoreline. Be mindful this is not your typical white sand super clear water experience but we wanted the best of both world's mountain and sea for our celebrations.
