Sandals Royal Plantation

If you want to be in Paradise but still feel like home, this is the place for you! There were so many people that we want to acknowledge. Tressel, Omar, Bebeato, Marvin, Romain (All 4 of them) Junior, Crocodile, Estina, Muhesh (forgive me if spelled wrong) Venice, Brandon, Alex, and so many more people. This is our third time going to the Royal Plantation and it will not be the last. What a beautiful place. Small, quaint, quiet and tranquil. You will be at peace here. Great food, great atmosphere, exceptional service, lovely rooms and views.

Where do we begin to start to describe our incredible, perfect 7 nights at our now favourite #1 Sandals, it was 5 plus star all the way👍❤️ This resort is perfectly run, which is a direct result of the incredible General Manager, Omar Robinson who is the BEST. His attention to detail is amazing. He leads his team by example, teaching and being a wonderful mentor and team leader to all his staff. Very inspirational and so qualified and perfect for Royal Plantation. Omar greets each and every guest by their name upon arrival and again is there to bid them a fond a farewell, just as you would your family. Omar is on the grounds from early morning till late evening. Stopping by the pools, in the restaurants, bars, everywhere and greets all the guests by name. It is amazing. Makes you feel part of the Royal Planation family, definitely a beautiful boutique experience. This is very special indeed. ❤️ Our room, beautiful bedding, linens so cozy. The grounds, pools, beach and restaurants are all fabulous and so clean, spotless. The food and service from all the staff was great, they love their jobs and it shows, they take pride in being part of the Royal Plantation family. We would love to have named them all but a shout out to Chevon, French restaurant who would make a wonderful butler. Garnet in the bar who made our espresso martinis. Tressel, our lovely bar waitress, the breakfast and lunch staff Stephanie, Vanya, all of the girls were delightful. Damian on the Front desk was really Special going above and beyond to help us. Our butlers were Tamara and Carlos. Tamara has been with Sandals many years and worked at many different resorts including those on other islands. Her charm and grace and beautiful spirit were so wonderful. Tamara knew I loved lobster and made a special effort at lunch times to bring me special lobster lunches, set the table with white table cloth, pour our champagne, treated us so kindly. We miss her. Carlos was there on the days and hours Tamara was away. We cannot wait to return to our home-away-from-home Sandals Royal Plantation. Our very favourite place now. My husband and I boooked in the Sandals Royal Plantation Hotel for the weekend for our 40th wedding anniversary, compliments of our children. The staff made us felt very special. We were greetd at the lobby with 2 ice cold rags, welcomed by our names and wished happy 40th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed home and they made us felt as if they knew us for a long time. The food was great, the service was first class and we certainly enjoyed ourselves.

We've just come back from our second visit and are already booked to go back again for a 3rd time in March of 2026. The resort is beautiful and the people really are above average. Amazing: Shout out to our amazing butlers Gladstone and Sherill. They made our trip amazing and we can't thank them enough. If you have the privilege of having either of these butlers you will be spoiled for life ! Beach butlers were fantastic and the 10am mango mimosas were spot on -Thanks Daniello! Food on this trip was beyond amazing. We had one small blip with regular bread being given to my celiac husband on our first night, but it was quickly caught and flagged as an issue and the rest of the trip we had the BEST FOOD EVER (hello gluten free coconut lobster - LOVE) ! Shout out to Martin the executive chef and all the amazing servers who took extra care of us. We cannot tell you how much we appreciated the care that was given. Room was beautiful with an amazing view. Beach is SPECTACULAR ! Less than Perfect: Totally outside of the hotel's control, but Ochi is LOUD when they have their evening performance on. This only goes on until about 10pm and is not every night, so not a huge deal, but if you go to bed early, just know there will be some music if you're in the west wing. East wing has street noise. Light sleepers might struggle when up on the higher floors (but they have the BEST views!). Tipping is somewhat confusing now. We were told only butlers (and beach butlers) can receive tips and generally that is done at the end of the trip, but we heard from a few guests that they were tipping all sorts of people. Honestly part of why I love sandals is because of the no tipping policy. I love the people there and they all deserve to be recognized and rewarded but I also would hate to see this turn into the type of resort where every person you interact with is expecting a tip for service. To be clear we were NEVER treated differently because we didn't tip on the spot and not a single person seemed to expect a tip in any way - was just concerning to hear that tips were being taken - really more the fault of the other guests ! Overall: This is still a 5-star resort. Small and perfect ! Thanks Omar for taking such great care of this home away from home!

This was my husband's, and I first visit to SRP and I have to say, we will be back! What a relaxing, enjoyable experience! We stayed for 10 days. The resort is impeccable, the staff welcoming and friendly. The grounds are luxurious and fragrant. The food was superb! All and all, we floated away in luxury. I want to call out a few people who made this visit memorable as well as delightful: Omar Robinson, many thanks for the Welcome Home!! What you have done in the short 11 months you have been GM is so apparent. From the get-go, you made us feel part of the family. Arriving to sweet-scenting lemongrass cool towels to freshen up from our journey from the airport all the way through departing to the Good bye serenade heading back to the airport...Thank you, for the love! Adrian and Alrich (Ricky) were our butlers. WOW...what can I say about the pair that hasn't probably already been said....STUPENDOUS! From the first "Whoop Whoop!" heard across the terrace, to the last hugs, Adrian and Ricky made sure every want and desire came to fruition. Make sure you ask for this dynamic duo for a Whoop Whoop-ing good time! Alyson and Camille at the Red Lane Spa: I had a nasty bout of sciatic when I came to SRP and Alyson noted my difficulty right away. Her concern and loving touch through the CBD Deep Tissue massage stopped the mind-numbing pain I was experiencing. I could enjoy the rest of our trip thanks to both of them. Much love to you both! While down at the beautiful West Beach, Mr. T and Daniello took care of our drink needs without ever having an empty glass! Their cheerful nature and quick wit were appreciated as we basked in the Caribbean sun! We decided to do an excursion to the Dolphin Sanctuary and the Sandals Foundation reading to elementary kids. Shana-Kaye at the Island Routes desk made sure our excursions went without a hitch. Thank you, Shana-Kaye! Your bright smile made these excursions a fun adventure! A shout out from Keish from the Sandals Foundation who went along and helped with our reading adventure. The fifth graders were so adorable and welcoming! The books we read were perfect for the age group and I know the kids at Exchange Primary School appreciated the added books to their library. For food and drink, crazy good at every restaurant we visited. Wilton, Cortney, Tyrone and Arthurneil were right on the spot every time we ate lunch at The Royal Grill! Vanya took care of our needs at The Terrace for breakfast, while David's omelet and scrambled eggs expertise filled us with goodness! KariAnn the chef at The Papillon makes a luscious sole, not to mention the decadent chocolates (oh man!!!), Chevon delighted us serving us our luscious French cuisine. We did do room service a few nights and Wayne made sure we were well taking care of. The Welcome Back dinner was the best we have ever attended at a Sandals. Very intimate surroundings and an evening filled with new friends and Omar acknowledging all the married couples! If I have forgotten anyone along the way, I apologize, but please know you made our visit a lasting memory! For anyone visiting Sandal properties, please book a stay at this pearl of a resort tucked away in gorgeous Ochos Rios, Jamaica. You will be made part of a family!!
