Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our stay at this hotel. I thoroughly read the reviews before booking here, but found after actual visiting here we wished we would have stayed elsewhere. The picture they show here with the pool looking over the ocean is about the best you will be exposed to. What you see of this pool is almost the entire size of the pool. There is not enough seating to accommodate all the guests that are staying there, and because of this people reserve their spots very early with their personal belongings. During our week stay here, we were only able to reserve a spot on one occasion, and that is only because my husband got up extra early to reserve a spot. They do not have any cabanas, so that is not an option either. Secondly, imagine what it would look like if you lived in the stone age and were living during the times of the Flintstones, and this is exactly what the room looks like; concrete walls, flooring, and ceilings throughout, and there are no pictures to at least spice it up. The very small shower is also completely made of concrete, and there is no door. The water would back up outside the shower, soaking the floor. Also, the mirror in the bathroom was low enough to where my husband, over 6' tall would have to bend down, just to look in the mirror. Two people cannot comfortably take up space in the bathroom, if one person wants to pass by the other. There are also many, many, stairs here, so if you are disabled, please do not stay here, as they have no way for you to get around (no elevator). The rooms can be quite some distance away from the pool and the restaurant. We paid a good price for a nice room, but it did not seem to matter. Third, my husband was using the hairdryer, and it literally blew up on him (caught on fire) and burned his hand. Because of this, the electricity went out. There are also wooden lounge chairs on the balcony. My husband is definitely not overweight, and if anything would be accused of being underweight, and was sitting on one of the lounge chairs and it shattered beneath him. By the way, you cannot comfortably lay down in these chairs. They don't extend all the way out, so again, if you think you can lay out on your deck because there is not enough room by the pool, think again. What was so disappointing is even after all these issues we experienced and mentioned to the staff, we were not offered an apology much less a credit of some sort. The air conditioner is very outdated, so it only worked intermittently, not a huge deal...but there is no TV in the room. The towel bar was broken; therefore, we could not put our towels on it. The view from our porch was beautiful, but when people say that you could lay out there when there is not enough room at the pool, keep in mind two things: 1) It can get very hot and it's not like you have a pool on your porch to cool off and 2) Some portions of another room or a building could block the sun. There is a jacuzzi on the porch (very small) where no more than two average adults could sit in it comfortably. We asked if they could possibly turn it down by 5 degrees as it was extremely hot (we could only get our legs in it), but then they turned it down to the point where it was barely lukewarm. We didn't bother to request for them to turn it back up again, we just let it go. We only visited the restaurant once for dinner, as the food, service, and drinks were quite disappointing, and we knew we wouldn't be coming back. The servers were busy, it just appeared there was not enough servers to address the guest's needs. However, the breakfast was very good. It was the same thing every day, but there were a lot of options, including someone there to make omelette. Although the staff (some of them) appeared pleasant we found that it was nothing out of the ordinary. If you want to experience an unimaginable experience, beautiful hotel, amazing staff, great food, great view, great service, beautiful rooms, and a definite 5* experience, go to the island of Mykonos and stay at ANAX. This was truly an amazing experience.
