We booked the Premium Suite for 5 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. In our opinion, Santorini Secret Suites and Spa is a Four Star hotel at best. This is also confirmed by the 2025 Forbes Travel Guide inspection (follow the link to Forbes from the hotels own website, and you will see four stars presented). The good things first ..... - Good location in Oia with excellent caldera views - Our room was spacious with a large bathroom and balcony with a jacuzzi. - Room was cleaned well, and items were replaced as and when necessary - Breakfast delivered to our room was tasty and well presented. - The staff were friendly. - The massage was very good, according to my wife. The bad ...... - The hotel was aware that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and acknowledged that via email, too. However, there was not a single message in the welcome note left on the table or, as most hotels do, on the bed during our entire 5 night stay! That was shocking! - The hotel were made aware that we do not drink alcohol yet we had a bottle of wine in our room on arrival instead of a mocktail they promised via email. They did deliver a mocktail the following day, but it would have been nice if they had asked us when to bring it instead of just turning up. - Since we arrived at night, we were told we'd have a tour of the hotel the next day. It was never offered and did not happen! - There were issues with our Jacuzzi turning off around 9 pm while every other Jacuzzi in the neighbouring three rooms would be working. We reported this multiple times before the issue was finally resolved. - Our shower did not have a door with water splashing out as a result, so a towel had to be put in front. To make matters worse, the side panel was leaking water, too! They tried to argue all this was normal and by design! - If we had booked via hotel.com, we'd receive a 20% SPA discount, but because we booked directly with the hotel, we apparently didn't qualify for any! - The breakfast options for vegetarians are limited. For example, a vegetarian cannot have a sunny side egg because it comes with pork! - Most days, we could not order breakfast via the app as it would only allow us to add two items, so we had to request the physical forms and hand the completed forms to reception. - No gym (didn't bother us) - Since the hotel advertised itself as a Spa Hotel, you would expect a more substantial spa ideally with views of the Caldera rather than a small closed cave space. - The pool has a single tiny toilet with an outside shower and no changing facilities. - The hotel has no lobby area for guests, which other similar hotels nearby had. - We requested a late checkout and were offered an additional hour although we were leaving four hours later, and they had two Premium rooms advertised as available on Hotel.com for the night we were departing. - For a small hotel, I was surprised that we never met the manager even though we were at the reception every single day. On our last day, I actually asked who the manager was and was told the manager was not around!
