I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel. While my family and I enjoyed most of our time and appreciated the friendliness of the general staff, I unfortunately had a very negative experience at the front desk that left a lasting impression. On the day before my check-out, I approached the desk to request a late check-out. At that time, I was told I needed to pay $110 for a stain on the mattress, allegedly caused by urine, which supposedly occurred six days earlier. This claim is completely untrue and unfair. At no point during my stay did anyone inform me of such an issue. I was told the staff “couldn’t find me for six days,” which is difficult to believe since I was in and out of the hotel every day. When I asked to see the stain, it was only mentioned verbally — no evidence was presented to me. My family consists entirely of adults, and none of us would ever cause such damage. As a guest, I had no opportunity to dispute this in a fair and timely manner. I was then pressured into paying $50 in exchange for two free hours of late check-out. While I appreciate the gesture, it felt like I had no choice but to agree, especially after being told I would not be allowed to leave or catch my flight if I did not pay. This made my last two days extremely stressful and ruined the otherwise positive experience of my holiday. Out of caution, I even took photos of the mattress before leaving the room, which I would never have done if the allegation had been true. This experience left me feeling powerless and unfairly treated. I kindly ask that you review this situation and reconsider the charge. Furthermore, I urge you to improve the way such matters are handled in the future — no guest should be threatened or pressured right before their departure.
