RUN... THE OTHER WAY! Do not stay at this Hotel!

We booked to stay here for a couple of days from 2-4 January but ended up checking out the very next morning (early!). Where do I start... there was nothing good about it and certainly not a 4 star rated hotel. A 3 at best! When we arrived late in the evening of the first day, the Hotel was like a ghost town and dark and not well lit. We had to confirm that it was in fact the Hotel. They had visitors come in at the same and were more concerned about their friends than us. Their computers did not work and they insisted on taking photos of our credit card including the security, to which we refused. We booked a junior suite which was certainly not the room we were given. The room was small (not like the picture shown); there was no door to the bathroom (a major concern); the mattress had plastic on it which rustled every time we moved in the bed; the sheets did not fit the mattress and kept coming out every time we moved; there was grit or sand on the bottom sheet and certainly some bugs, as we were bitten. There was no soap; no shampoo or conditioner; only one bath towel (we were two people); no face washer and no tissues. We had to ask for all of these and were told that we could use the shampoo as soap/body wash as they had no stock and could not provide tissues either. The TV did not work. The furniture in the room was old and broken. The mixer tap on the bathroom sink was broken and the handle fell off every time we tried to use it. When we raised our concerns with the owner/manager late on our first evening, we were told that there was no other room they could move us to as we booked through a third party (Expedia/Qantas). When we checked out the following morning a different staff member insisted that they could have moved us to a better room as they did in fact have availability. But we just had to get out. We booked elsewhere which was a true and proper 4 star hotel with a choice of breakfast for a lot less and nearer to South Beach. The Hotel advertised free breakfast, which consisted of one boiled egg, one slice of bread and some cereal. As other reviewers have written, very poor standards and we declined breakfast. My advice always read the reviews no matter where you go or stay. But please DO NOT stay at this hotel. Its just disgusting!
