Official Description

Located on the northeast coast of Jamaica, this beach hotel is only 20 minutes away from the Montego Bay International Airport. Guests are offered exclusive facilities with warm neutral tones that highlight the beauty of the hotel, including 24-hour personalised service, gourmet restaurants, bars and lounges. The hotel is exclusively for adults. Built in 2009, the air-conditioned beach hotel offers 350 suites and a lobby with a hotel safe. The luxury suites each come with a canopy bed, a full entertainment system and a hot tub for two. Some suites feature private, direct swim-out pool access. All suites have a king-size bed or two queen beds, an en suite bathroom with a shower, bathrobes and bedroom slippers, a hairdryer and a vanity mirror. Other in-room amenities include a 27-inch cable TV, a minibar with beer renewed daily, soft drinks and water, an iron and ironing board, an electronic safe, wardrobe, a ceiling fan and air conditioning, a furnished balcony, and TV speakers in the bathroom. The hotel offers a wide variety of beach, land, and water-based activities, including table tennis, basketball, volleyball, bocce, football, golf (minutes away), jogging trails, darts, tennis, bicycle riding, board games, yoga, aerobics, water aerobics, beach football and catamaran boating. Introductory scuba diving lessons are given in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool and guests may also go sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling or bungee jumping. Dance classes and Spanish classes are also available at the hotel. Guests may choose from six à la carte gourmet restaurants and a buffet venue as well as 24-hour room service.

Loved the resort.

We loved our stay. I agree with other reviews that the preferred club is not worth the extra money. Also, the beach at St. James area is nicer. If you are going to do prefer club, do it on the saint james side, the pool and beach are nicer. Wild orchid preferred club is about the quietest area on the beach. The food is good. Blue Mountain Restaurant was the best. It is their Jamaican food restaurant and the food was just the best. We liked the piano bar the best for bars. The service at the restaurants was very good, but service at the pools and beach is basically absent. Better to expect you will need to get your own drinks at the pool, which I didn’t mind. I rarely saw anyone coming to take orders, and the few time you did it was hard to get the servers attention. You will wait a very long time for someone to come along if at all. The spa was very nice, over priced as all spas are at resorts. The gym was great, a little small for the size of the resort. They have two peloton bikes but it looks like they use the other type of cleats, but you can just use the straps on the pedals. The bands they had play were very good. The other forms of entertainment were good. Would definitely come again.

Great Hospitality and Facilities, but Room Cleanliness Needs Improvement

We were disappointed with the cleanliness upon arrival—the room didn’t meet 4–5 star expectations, with a blocked toilet and no toilet brush, iron, ironing board, or kettle (only a coffee machine without clear instructions). The room also lacked that fresh, clean scent. It was surprising that access to the spa, sauna, and steam room wasn’t complimentary, which I haven’t encountered at other high-end hotels. That said, the pool area was lovely and well maintained, offering a relaxing atmosphere. The bar facilities were excellent, providing a great range of drinks, and the food throughout our stay was consistently delicious. Customer service really stood out. Imani at the help desk, along with Deadrea and other staff, were incredibly kind and helpful. They went the extra mile, offering complimentary champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and even a spa voucher, which made our stay much more enjoyable. Overall, while the room cleanliness was a letdown, the hospitality and leisure facilities helped make our visit a positive experience.

Lots to do

Hotel was great, staff was amazing. Lots of fun activities and options for food and drinks . My main concern is the cleanliness of the rooms. I would rate a 3 on that, I wouldn’t consider it a 4 or 5 star as they claim based on the quality of the rooms being cleaned. Other than that I have no complaints.

Few days of vacation

Stayed in the preferred club beach front junior suite. The room was spacious , clean and comfortable. Shaun and Kenroy were great at doing their jobs in giving us such a great vacation. Shaun got us settled in. Kenroy made sure we had the best beach view everyday, lunch at the beach and reservations for dinner every night. We loved the relaxation at the beach, Kenroy had our place ready every morning with a cooler and we didn't have to do anything. The food was great. Our service at the rooftop and Jamaican restaurant was great - I cannot remember the young ladies names, but they were so attentive and gave great recommendations.
