Peaceful retreat

Our room was beautiful. The bed was divine. We had a lovely seating area out front. The staff we super friendly. We hired a bike and went to a Tanah lot. The pool area wasn’t quite finished when we were there but it looked beautiful even half finished. It was a infinity pool. We actually got speaking to one of the construction workers who showed us what the new rooms would look like and WOW. We said that we will 100% come back one day when it’s completely finished. It’s not near anything close so you will need to rent a scooter but we loved this feeling and being away from tourists!

This hotel is really charming and has a river view, well located if you have a scooter, in the middle of the rice fields, near some good restaurants and convenient stores or shops and also close to a beach with almost no one (yet) to be seen. This hotel is building 15 new and even more charming rooms, a restaurant and a swimming pool. The staff speaks English and you are about 2, 5 km from Tanah Lot and 15 minutes from Echo beach (with a scooter or a car). So as I wrote before you are not too far away from the action if you feel like it, but far enough if you want to enjoy the country side without too much civilization around you (which I like).

This property suite for you who need a calm atmosphere. Easy to find, cheap, comfortable, a bit cold in the morning. They dont have pool but you can spend your time in Tanah Lot or surfing at Kedungu Beach. You can reach those beach in 5 until 10 minutes. But be careful with the main road, some of the road around this property is not in good condition. This property also offer breakfast & tour. But the breakfast for two is almost twice of the standard room price🤣 | me and my husband did not try because we prefer local food around the guest house.

“Good Hotel”

Sekur Arum Guesthouse Booked: 2nd April - 5th April However ONLY Stayed: 2nd April - 3rd April Deluxe Double Room with Balcony *** Hotel *** Could be Cleaner. Great Hotel Accommodation. Beach via Motorbike 20/25 Minutes - Motorbike needed they can organise this. Restaurant Access 5 Minutes. *** The Staff *** The Staff are very welcoming however not such great English although you have access to Google Translate on their Laptop so you can type any hard questions. *** The Room *** The Pictures on Booking.com show the real thing. Good sized Room with a sitting area outside. TV however NO channels in English. Cleaning of the Room and Fresh Towels on Request. Wifi not that Great. OK Air Conditioning Clean Comfy Bed HOT Shower with Good Pressure however the pressure made the shower jump off the wall! Unfortunately their cats had Kittens and they were in the roof so you could hear the Kittens running around at night and in the morning :( *** Area *** Based in Tanah Lot away from the main street. Close to the Temple. Unfortunately when we tried to order a taxi to 5 mins down the road no one would come - we tried Grab, GoJek, and Bluebird... We ended up having to get a Taxi from one of the staff members friends at 100,000 for a 5 minute drive! Was not happy so if you stay here and need to go to the Airport please order in advance as we waited 2 Hours then had to take the offer off the friends at a high rate cost. All Beaches for Surf Spots within 25 Motorbike Ride It was a Lovely Hotel at a good price however we would not stay there again, due to being light sleepers and the stress with getting a Taxi. 6/10

Had great potential

Me and my wife had a good night over Sekar Arum Guest House. We didnt have any trouble to find the hotel location. However,we noticed that this property doesnt have 24hr-ready lobby staff, nobody welcomed us when we first arrive (10.45 pm). After 15 minutes of searching for hotel staff, Luckily,we met the owner who stayed behind the hotel area and managed to get a room which we had already booked via Traveloka (an online booking site). The owner was nice and apologized for the trouble we had. He even told us to directly rest that night without having to struggle completing the check-in administration. The hotel was nice, clean and it provides complete amenities, which surprised us, considering the situation of the hotel which looked more like an average hostel. Aircon works good and we slept well after having a pleasing hot shower. The next day, we had problem with water our toilet,the water ran out,haha... Turned out that it was not a big problem, the water pump was accidentally turned off by one of the staff there. Check out was fast,no trouble. In my opinion, this guest house has the potential to be great. I think they only need couple more staffs to handle specific service,for example 24hr-ready lobby staff to greet guests and handle bookings. We did also find it hard to contact the hotel management since no phone number was provided,even on their facebook page, we couldnt find the number. Just some minor fixes and this property will be great for sure. Thank u Sekar Arum
