The best hostel / hotel in Cancun area

had a memorable stay at Selina Cancun Laguna and would like to share my deep appreciation for the outstanding service I received. The hotel is in an excellent location, making it very close to the beach . The overall atmosphere is welcoming, and the facilities are clean and comfortable. Very,big swimming pool, well equipped kitchen. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional staff, especially the reservation manager, Ms. Valeria Rodriguez. Upon arrival, I faced a very stressful situation: although I had booked a premium room through Agoda, I realized that the reservation was for a basic room without a private bathroom. Unfortunately, Agoda offered no support to to correct their own mistake.! Due to my medical condition, this situation with bathroom was critical for me. Thankfully, Ms. Rodriguez stepped in with great compassion and professionalism. She ,understood the urgency of my situation, and went out of her way to assign me a room with direct access to a bathroom. Her help made a tremendous difference, and I am incredibly grateful for her kindness and care. I highly recommend Selina Cancun—not just for its location and comfort, but most importantly for the people who work there. Their willingness to help, even in difficult situations, speaks volumes about the quality of service you can expect. Thank you again, Ms. Rodriguez for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable!

stay away! cockroaches and money scams!

STAY AWAY!!! what an awful place with cockroaches and ants! i have been traveling the world for last 15 years and i have never in my life seen bad place like this. disgrace. we have come here with my husband and we have already paid more money for the standard room with private bathroom. Hotel gave us basic room with shared bathroom and wouldnt give us the other room that we actually had a booking confirmation from. They were trying to scam us and get us to pay more for the room we already booked and paid for. Staff was ultra incompetent and provided us no solutions at all. Do not go here, you will be sorry.

Urgent Request to Delist Selina Hotel Cancun from Booking.com and Tripadivsor

I just arrived at the Selina Hotel in Cancun and my experience has been extremely disappointing. From the moment I checked in, I was forced to wear an unsightly band that I feel invades my personal privacy, which is completely unacceptable. Moreover, the condition of the facilities is appalling. The toilets are literally filthy and appear to be in a state of neglect, with a level of uncleanliness that is shocking. The rooms are cramped and poorly maintained, and the hallways are equally small and dirty. I am writing this review to warn other travelers: this hotel does not meet basic hygiene and comfort standards. I strongly recommend considering alternative accommodations if you plan to visit Cancun.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. While the hotel's location might be convenient for those attending nearby parties, this benefit is largely irrelevant if you're planning to go on tours. Most tour companies provide shuttle services that pick you up from your hotel regardless of its location. Unfortunately, the positives end there. Upon arriving, despite having a reservation, the hotel staff couldn’t locate my booking in their system, causing unnecessary stress. When I finally checked into my room, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority. I found two combs left by previous guests in the bathroom, the soap was already opened, and the overall condition of the bathroom was unhygienic. To make matters worse, they provided only one towel for a room booked for two people. The worst part of my stay involved the mishandling of my luggage. My airline lost my bag, which was delivered to the hotel two days after my arrival. Despite visiting the reception multiple times a day to inquire about my luggage, the staff repeatedly told me it hadn’t arrived. This led me to purchase clothes during my trip, only to discover on the last day that my bag had been at the hotel for two days. When confronted, the staff were evasive and unhelpful, directing me to speak with a manager who wouldn’t be available until after my departure. Overall, my experience was terrible. The lack of organization, cleanliness, and customer service is unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
