La Pasteria is an amazing a la carte restaurant, the best ever a la carte we have been to whilst on holiday. We have been twice on our holiday already and will be visiting again before we leave. The food is exceptional especially the ragu pasta, gnocchi and Caprese salad. Giota and her team are so welcoming and can’t do enough for us, they have really made our holiday extra special and the hotel is lucky to have them!

Just back from a lovely week. All good but word of advice… if you’re looking to book a beach bungalow with swim up pool then be aware that a lot of them are in the shade all day. Only some of them get some sun (in the afternoon). I paid extra for the room to get our own private sun loungers but as they were in the shade we didn’t use them. If I’d known I wouldn’t have booked it. I did ask if we could move to one of the rooms with sun. They took my number but never got back to me. Not impressed with that. So if you’re booking one of these rooms I would email ahead and ask for a room that gets the afternoon sun. Only other negative was the mini bar service. No one ever came to top up the mini bar (suppose to be every 2 days) in the week we were there or the tea/coffee etc. I got tired of having to ring up every day for someone to bring over tea/milk. So not impressed with that service. Otherwise it’s a wonderful resort. Very stylish. Great pools and bars. Loved the low key chilled atmosphere. The food is amazing! Ordering poolside drinks via their app was a great treat! I would definitely recommend this resort.

After plenty of research and glowing online reviews, we chose Port Royal for our honeymoon. On arrival, everything felt five-star: our cases were taken straight from the coach, we were greeted with a cool drink and hot towel, then shown around the immaculate grounds by golf buggy. It was a seamless start that promised a dream stay. Our room, though comfortable, was underwhelming. It was plain rather than plush — bare walls, simple furnishings, the sink was in the bedroom, not the bathroom?? but nothing that felt special for a honeymoon. A coffee machine is something we’d expect as standard in a five-star property, but instead we were left with instant sachets that were never replenished the entire two weeks we were here. We even left a note, first in English, then in Greek as a hint to housekeeping, but in the end found it easier to buy our own coffee and milk from the supermarket across the road. A small frustration, but one that highlighted the gap between the polished image and the actual experience. Other honeymoon reviews had spoken of surprise upgrades, petals on the bed, and complimentary fizz, so we quietly hoped for the same. In reality, those touches come only with “kiss packages” costing between €400 and €900. We asked the hotel for advice on how we could enhance our stay as it felt a little flat, and to the hotel’s credit, on day four a bottle of fizz and some macarons were sent to our room, which we appreciated. The setting itself is stunning. The grounds are beautifully maintained, spacious and calm, and there was always a sunbed available even mid-afternoon. Staff are the standout here — genuinely warm, endlessly accommodating, and determined to make your stay enjoyable. Rules around guest behaviour aren’t always enforced, but staff themselves are consistently gracious. Dining is another highlight. The buffet is plentiful, fresh, and well presented, with daily variety. Vegetarian choices are limited beyond salads, but the quality overall is strong and €40 per person for dinner (if not all-inclusive) felt fair. The seaside dinner, at €300, was a honeymoon high point. We were collected by golf buggy and taken to a dressed gazebo at a private spot on the beach where our personal waitress, Maria, looked after every detail. It was intimate, romantic, and unforgettable. Worth every cent. The biggest frustration is the hotel’s obsession with social media. Daily reels show an endless parade of glamorous, twenty-something models floating in infinity pools, sipping cocktails, and dining by candlelight. In reality, guests are a mix of ages — mostly couples in their 30s through 70s — enjoying a well-earned holiday, not posing for cameras. The carefully staged content creates an expectation of elegance and refinement that day-to-day life in the resort doesn’t always live up to. For example, music around the pool was more Ibiza club than chilled luxury, rules on dress and behaviour weren’t consistently applied, and moments that should have felt relaxed sometimes seemed rushed or distracted when staged content creation took priority around the pool. It’s not that the hotel doesn’t have strengths — it absolutely does. The staff are wonderful, the setting is beautiful, and the food is excellent. But the focus on curating the perfect reel means guests can sometimes feel like an afterthought, which leaves a trace of disappointment. The reality is a perfectly nice five-star Greek resort with some real highlights — not the flawless, cinematic experience their social media suggests. Kolymbia itself is small and quiet, with a handful of shops, restaurants, and bars. Ideal if you’re seeking peace, but not much beyond that. In the end, Port Royal is a very good hotel, but not quite the extraordinary place we’d hoped for our honeymoon. The glossy image oversells it. Would we return? Probably not.

We stayed here for 9 nights for our mini moon. I have to say it doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel unless you book one of the more expensive rooms. But considering we still spent 5 grand on our holiday in my eyes everyone should get the same treatment. We had a clump of someone else’s hair in our shower the whole time that we complained about 3 times and nothing was done- showing the showers aren’t deep cleaned in between guests. The sunloungers get hogged at 8am by people leaving towels on them and disappearing as the hotel doesn’t honour their sun lounger policy that’s on their website and information packs. Considering we booked all inclusive plus a lot of the soft drinks, cocktails and food weren’t actually included. We loved the look of the starry pool and all the pictures/ videos on their social media and travel brochures of people going in at night. But when we arrived we got told you can’t go in at night as that’s when it’s cleaned- only influencers are aloud in. We also were on the edge of the resort and could hear the next doors hotel karaoke and music until 11pm as it was ridiculously loud. Overall I wouldn’t return as I wasn’t happy with a lot of things and there was a lot of hidden costs. Considering it was our mini moon we left very disappointed.

This hotel is lovely right in the town so you can walk out the door to all the bars, shops and restaurants. We were all-inclusive. The food was great in the buffet, also the Italian and tapas restaurants' food was really nice and the drinks were also good . The one thing that stood out for us was that there was no fighting for sunbeds, people were not reserving them and disappearing for hours (although I think they would have been removed if they had ) there was plenty for everyone there were two pools and you could always get a bed what ever time of day also plenty of sunbeds on the beach absolutely perfect more hotels should be like this one the sunbed wars do need to be stopped we were in Cyprus in may hotels there you have to be allocated a sunbed on arrival perfect. Rooms were fabulous, clean, bed really comfortable, mini bar, well stocked every second day with beer,wine,nibbles. Entertainment was ok , but it was a chill out hotel, so really, it was not an issue. Finally, the staff they were so friendly and polite helpful that the pool guys who allocated the towels and kept check around the pool were so friendly and chatty staff in the restaurants, so happy and friendly nothing was to much trouble for any of them . We really couldn't fault this hotel and we have travelled a lot abroad and still do we will return.
