Junior Suite Upgrade

Hotel was originally built in 1975 according to the cornerstone sigh in front. It was a grand lobby and nicely maintained throughout. Checkin was quick and Bonvoy status recognized but checkout was a little slower waiting for them to login to the computer. I appreciated that they upgraded me to a junior suite. It was a little dated inside but nicely maintained and comfortable. Large separate office and seating area plus a roomy bathroom was nice. There were lots of power and USB outlets. The sliding doors were locked but had nice views of the creek. I just made the evening happy hour and the small plates were quite tasty especially their smoked salmon, mushroom pastry and mango pudding. I went down for breakfast around 6:30am and it wasn’t busy at all. All stations were setup and ready to go when it opened. It was a multicultural mix of food: Arabic, Indian, Asian and Western. Tried some of the Arabic choices and enjoyed them all. From the welcome upon entrance, coffee and water delivery and bussing of the tables the breakfast staff delivered on their service. I did not get to use the gym but it had all the requisite equipment for free weights and cardio. Pool was partially shaded with a separate lap lane. The team at the entrance were very friendly and helpful providing guidance and direction when asked. Located by Dubai Creek and less than 10 minute walk to Union Station made this a convenient and nice start to my first visit to Dubai.

If i want to be honest the hotel overall wasnt as good as 2 months ago. But the bar man at the Bay bar was perfect and n

If i want to be honest the quality of the hotel drops in comparison to two month ago. The gym doesnt have good purofication system and also some dead bugs on the floor, also guests are allowed to go to the swimming pool with any costumes which meant they were with their outfits in the pool which was not acceptable at all and prevent us from going inside. However the Bay bar and the bar tender was really nice and helpful.

Loved the location, the creek breeze made it very pleasant at the pool. Walked 10 min and got an abra which took us to the souks. Comfortable rooms, lovely breakfast and lovely staff. Their half board package was very flexible as you could eat at lunch by the pool or in the evening. Would definitely stay here again when I’m next in Dubai, prefer this area to downtown
