Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa

We visited this resort for a 12 night stay. This is our third visit to the Maldives to provide some comparison to our experience. I have broken the review into 3 areas to keep the feedback separate and honest. Location The location is a 15 minute boat ride from the airport. Whilst this is a huge benefit, the downside to this are the views you can see of Male from the resort. These are not small views in the horizon- these are clearly visible and impeding. No where on any of the descriptions or hotel stock photos is this described or shown which in my view, they should make visitors aware of. This may not bother everyone as the appeal of a short transfer may be more important, however this may be a decision breaker for others if this is something which would be an issue. Having been to the Maldives twice previously I wanted unrestricted views of the Indian Ocean, which this resort does not provide. This is also not mentioned in all reviews as not an issue for others so this is something you would need to find out yourself before booking. We also saw quite a bit of rubbish in the sea which would appear when the weather was quite choppy. I making an assumption this is coming from Male. We picked up plastic bottles, caps/ wrappers/ cardboard etc from the ocean on at least 4 days of our stay. Not the resorts fault. Amenities We stayed in an over water villa. Highly recommended. Having direct access to the beautiful Indian ocean was such a treat and hearing the waves at night was wonderful. The bed was large and comfy, the toiletries of high quality and we had plenty of water in the room. We never had a shortage of beach towels which was appreciated We never used the tea/ coffee facilities in the room so cannot provide feedback on that. The bath over looked the ocean which again was a nice touch. The layout of the room was good. You had 2 ways to access the sun deck-through the double doors in the main bedroom or through the bathroom. This meant if you had been swimming you could keep the floor clean in the main bedroom by going through the bathroom. An area for improvement was the mini bar. Even though we were on all inclusive, anything taken from the mini bar (which was included in your plan) would be charged for. This was a big let down and felt like being Nickel and dimed. To be charged $8 dollars for a Diet Coke because I drank it from the mini bar rather than walk to get it from the bar is unreasonable and we have never experienced this before. We had already paid a large amount for the holiday and the all inclusive upgrade so we refused to use the mini bar for this reason. I would also recommend the stairs leading down to the sea are cleaned more often. The 4 last steps were very slippy throughout our stay. We were extra careful but I did see an elderly gentleman from an adjacent villa slip and it looked painful. There is also oxidisation on the rails which gets onto your hands and then onto your swim wear. The sea floor outside of the villas has large rocks which you need to be carefully stepping on when accessing the sea. If you go another 5 metres out it is more sandy and you can stand easily. TOP TIP! Get your snorkel gear as soon as possible. There is lots of fish around the villas. We were so lucky to see countless Black tip sharks and had a special visit from a sting ray. Food Generally the food was good. The best restaurant was the Indian and we ate there 4 times. The curry’s and breads were delicious. I ate the prawns every time as my starter, as they were truly delicious. Had this been open on Sundays, we may have done a couple more visits! Chop Stix we ate in twice and again was good. The grilled prawns at the Kahuni hut were fantastic. We did not think the Buffett was very good and tried to avoid eating there. Even though the nights were themed it felt as if at least half of what was on offer would be food from the other restaurants or things which were repeated every day. The Asian night was probably the best as it had sushi which was well made. An observation would be there did not seem to be an abundance of fish on offer. Especially in the buffet. There was white fish but no idea what it was, but normally you would expect to get red snapper. Grouper. Marlin etc and none of this was on offer. This included a lack of sea food in the buffet. Again may not be an issue if you are not overly fussed about eating fish/ seafood. The all inclusive was overly complicated and was quite annoying trying to e sure you stayed within the plan. Many cocktails were also not included which was a shame. Staff This is what sets this resort apart. The staff were wonderful. Warm, friendly and always wanting to ensure everything was as you’d expect. Special mention to Anil from the F&B team and who was mainly in the Indian restaurant. He has a true passion for customer service and this shines through. Always on hand to help with any request and with a smile. He deserves to be looked after as he is a true asset. Thanks Anil for looking after us so well. Shafeeq at the anchorage again was so helpful. He works very hard looking after everyone and has a great knack of anticipating needs. He is a gem. And finally to Bareenda ( I hope I’ve spelt his name right) for looking after us at breakfast. Again super efficient service, always with a smile and quickly began to remember what we like to order which is a special skill. A long and honest review of what is great and what could be better about this resort from one of the longer staying guests.

From arriving to leaving the stay was amazing! A stunning location with plenty of quite beaches and a pool area close to the restaurants and bar. A varied and delicious choice on offer both at the poolside restaurant, buffet and the formal restaurants, different cuisines at the buffet each evening. Accommodation was spacious and cleaned twice a day if required. The staff made the stay even more amazing with their smiles and attentive service and hard work especially around the pool.The service received from Shafeeg was incredible and delivered with a big beaming smile and he is an asset to the resort

Sheraton Maldives isn’t just a beautiful property—it’s a place where hospitality is heartfelt and every detail is designed to make your stay unforgettable. An unforgettable stay — pure paradise with heartfelt service! We recently had the immense pleasure of staying at the Sheraton, and it truly was an exceptional experience from start to finish. A very special thank you goes to Siraj, who kept our overwater villa immaculate at all times. His cheerful presence, no matter the hour, made every interaction a joy. We were amazed each day by his creative towel sculptures—they brought us laughter and delight, and his attention to our every wish (including endless water!) was outstanding. In the restaurant, Birendra took care of us with genuine warmth and hospitality. Whether morning or night, his passion for service shone through in every detail. We also appreciated the support of Maish, who added to the welcoming atmosphere at every meal. Aminath gave us a very special gift—a beautiful photo session that captured lasting memories. Her kindness and talent made the experience feel relaxed, natural, and truly enjoyable. And last but certainly not least, Maria, who coordinated everything with such care and grace. Every question we had was answered quickly and warmly. Her thoughtful attention made all the difference, and her presence really touched our hearts. The special Easter chocolate creation and the stunningly decorated table on our last night—with a “See U Soon” message spelled out in leaves—were just two of many moments that made us feel truly special. I am delighted to be staying at the Sheraton Full Moon Resort for the 11th time. I commend the resort for its clean rooms, clear water, and numerous facilities. I would like to extend my gratitude to Ms. Shurufa for her exceptional service. She is extremely patient, responds promptly, and is knowledgeable about every aspect of the resort, always ready to assist at any time.
