Just returned from a 2 week holiday with family and friends. I will say from the offset that we had a great time and made the most of the holiday with the company we had. However, I do feel the hotel was of a poor standard and definitely not a 5*, 3 at best!! Positives - - Lads on rollerblades, grafters, never stop, tips go a long way as the taller lad does a mean Strawberry Daquiri - Air con in room, ours worked perfect, in fact had a switch off occasionally - Minibar fridge always stocked - Wave Bar - nice relaxing vibe to enjoy a post sunbed drink - Arcade was great for the kids in our party and who runs it is a really nice guy - Pizza restaurant - very good choice and tasty pizzas. Outdoor decking area to look out onto the beach which made it even better - Beach - nice to spend a few hours away from the hotel area and chill and have a dip in the sea. Sea water is lovely and warm - Gozleme - really tasty with a good choice of fillings, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, cheese, meat. Just make sure you get to the front of the queue a good 20 mins before she closes at 4pm as we experienced a couple of times the lady saying she was closed with 15-20 mins still to go Negatives - - General cleanliness and maintenance. The main pool is dirty, constantly walking on tiny stones and pebbles and loose tiles and grout. Murky water and Splashpool water was green a few times with seemingly no rationale explanation as to why - Room - was ok, quite dated so could do with a modernisation and drainage constantly smelled of egg which wasn't nice when showering or brushing teeth - Food was ok, but choice was very limited. The queues for the meat station and pasta buffet are ridiculous seeing as its a 5* hotel. The meat, once served, runs out within a few minutes, hence the queues waiting for more. Fresh meat (beef/roast chicken/turkey) are served in the buffet area which is great, however the portions you are handed aren't, a tiny amount which again leads to queuing for more - Turkish a la carte - ate there twice and whilst the atmosphere and food were nice, 4 out of our party of 6 woke up the morning after with severe diarrhea and stomach cramps. The only 2 who got lucky were the kids who had chicken nuggets and chips - Late night 'snack bar' - heads up, this isn't a snack bar, it is a sit down meal ordered from an a la carte menu. The Spag Bol was delicious granted, but if I'm arriving late from a long flight for example, I'm wanting a sandwich or slice of pizza or chips, not a sit down meal - Bar Staff - throughout the hotel there is an apparent language barrier, which is to be expected but what it does lead to is wrong drinks being served. Cocktails in particular, none that we were served throughout our stay were ever correct - Wave Bar toilets - always flooded, imagine tiptoeing through that with flip flops, not nice - Mosquito's and ants - I can't attribute these to the hotel in particular, its just a heads up as we were bit constantly in our first few days, and the Wave Bar is swarming with ants. Come prepared basically I appreciate people have different standards of what they expect from a hotel but I'm sure when you pay 1000's for a 5* experience, there is a minimum expectation which unfortunately this hotel fell way short of Thanks
