Silavadee Pool Spa Resort (SHA Extra Plus+)

We only had a short stay, but within minutes, we were in a state of tranquility. The hotel is lush with greenery and epic seaviews. Highly recommend the breakfast (lobster rolls) yummy. Staff were super friendly and professional. You could see there was a great vibe between the team and the GM Tristan. We will be back again 😎

I would like to thanks all the staff in Silavadee for arranging our wedding. They have made it truly amazing. As a couple who are from overseas, and who have never been to Koh Samui, everything was uncertain for us. However, Su and Tik have made the whole thing so smooth and stress free really. All the details from the moment we walked into the hotel were perfect. All the staff greeted us with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Rooms were amazing, super clean and huge. One thing to note, they are a green hotel, so they do not have an elevator. This might cause some trouble for those who are not physically fit but the hotel staff was able to swap room for my guests during the stay, which was fantastic. The dinner we had was soooo good and the mango sticky rice was 😋😋 I have to mention the breakfast as well. This is one of the best hotel breakfasts we had. As I am a vegetarian, the hotel was able to cater for us and make me a fresh bowl of noodles every morning. The pad sew ew is still the best so far I had across the whole Thailand. The fried rice and egg Benedict is a must try as well.

We spent six nights in Villa 2 (oceanfront pool villa suite) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The Villa has the most phenomenal view over the ocean and we were lucky to have wonderful weather the whole week. The bed was very comfortable and my husband appreciated having the option to try different types of pillows. Breakfast every morning was superb, so many options and staff were so friendly and attentive. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is quite steep to walk around the resort and you can use the buggy but we enjoyed the walks and the privacy that the resort offers between villas, there are beautiful tropical gardens all through the resort. We used the beach briefly, preferring to spend time in the warm private pool. We were concerned about renovation noise (having booked before knowing there was any potential disruption) but the impact was minimal. We occasionally heard some banging noises when we were outside but nothing from inside the Villa. A cocktail hour to compensate for renovation disruption was much appreciated and we attended that on several occasions. We had several meals at Moon and Star and also utilised the excellent menu that is available for in-room dining. Service was always good and the menus were extensive. We thoroughly enjoyed both the Thai food and the western food. The view from Star is so beautiful and it is definitely worth booking a sunken table. We had exceptional service from a young man at Star whose name I cannot remember, who helped us organise some beautiful photos up there as the Sun was setting. We also had fantastic service at Moon and Sun with Dream, Aonny, Prae and Pure. There were so many others that I cannot name, as I did not always catch the name badge but the service was faultless. The lady who serviced our room each day was also exceptional, making sure we had everything we needed and being very thorough. We appreciated having access to the beautiful snacks provided each day, fresh fruit and mini bar options such as juice and soda water. As other reviews have mentioned, the resort is a little bit off the beaten track but we loved that – there was no traffic noise, no nightclub noise and it was very private and serene. We did walk to Lamai one morning, but the heat/humidity did make it challenging. On other days we utilised the shuttle and also utilised Grabs which were easy and affordable. The airport shuttle was excellent and greatly appreciated after a long day of flying. The Wi-Fi in the resort was excellent and we appreciated being able to access it from all our spaces. The app makes it very easy to communicate with staff for anything that you need and they were always very quick to respond. I also booked a session in the spa which involved a scrub and a massage and these were both amazing, staff were very professional. Overall, we had a magnificent stay. The only negative aspect was that on our first full day there was a wedding which involved several spaces being closed, this did not bother us at all as we were enjoying our private villa. However, after the reception had finished, the wedding party partied on at the villa next to us (Villa 1) with loud music, shouting, laughing and what sounded like a loud nightclub. This went on from 1am to 4am about 2 metres from our bedroom! We alerted staff initially and they came to attend, but the pattern for the next few hours was that staff would attend and the party would quieten down and then as soon as staff left, the revellers would return to an unacceptable level of noise. At 4am the non-Villa 1 guests finally returned to their rooms. We were shocked that this occurred and that staff did not force guests back to their rooms at 1am and that other guests could be so selfish. It meant that our second day we felt like zombies and were very tired. We were unable to sleep-in that morning due to the noise from the nearby pool of young children swimming at 7am. Two days later, the hotel provided an apology with a bottle of wine, unfortunately the apology was from Google translate so it did not make much sense. We felt frustrated that the resort had not enforced rules about noise and as a result, it had been very disruptive for us. Fortunately, every other day and night it was peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend staying here for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or special occasion. It is a beautiful luxurious resort that offers every amenity that you need and provides you with a wonderful relaxing stay. We would love to return one day. Hopefully no weddings will be scheduled that week....
