Fabulous holiday

30 Sep 2025
We have just come back from a relaxing 2 week stay at this hotel. The hotel was not fully full at the time of visiting as it was supposed to be the rainy season however we were generally lucky with the weather just raining one morning and a couple of brief showrrs whilat on the beach The hotel is quite small ,butique clean very friendly staff and with 2 bars fairly quiet. This quietness allowed us fully to relax and unwind in the sun the main reason for staying on this beauriful island after abusy time working at home. The rooms are clean welcome with all the facalties you can want if tje decar is a lirtle dated and the shower will flood the bathroom if not careful. However the main benfit of our room being on the second floor was the nice veranda balacony you coukd sit ourside and enjoy a nice cocktail at night or a coffee inthe morning I could not cpmment on the sun loungers or the pool both are available as there is a lovely sandy beach five mins walk away and with a cooler from the hotel and sun lounger on the beach it would be mad not to enjoy beautiful rodney bay The food at the hotel like the rest of the hotel is relaxing a la carte cooked fresh to order with a wide range of options. If you want quick service or a buffet sttyle service this hotel is not for you However if you can manage relaxing good food 3 courses 3 times a day with drinks and friendly service in quiant ambiance like us this is definanently place to stay Whilst we were there we were able to book a wide range of activities to enjoy the people and sights of the island. We did this through both the hotel internet local guides doing a boat trip booked on the beach zip wires and sunset catamaran trip and even arranged a taxi for the day to take us round the island and visit hotel o chocolate estate The hotel has bars and service is friendly and efficient and generally nothing is too much trouble The local town is about 10 minutes walk away with bars restaurants and shops to further enjoy the area If you are looking for a relaxing hotel that s laid back friendly and small like the island with a bit of a nostalga feel to unwind in the day on a beach or explore and enjoy a cocktails , chat and food in the evning before a great sleep in air conditioned rooms this hotel is and was for us right up our street

Relaxing getaway

30 Sep 2025
Such a relaxing and friendly place. the staff are so accommodating, especially Trevone and Alex behind the bar and Jane and Eloise who were based in the restaurant. Smooth check in and check out. Excellent range of local and traditional foods The whole Rodney Bay area is beautiful and the locals are so so friendly. We fully recommend this hotel for your Caribbean stay.

soco house (an honest review)

30 Sep 2025
i have recently returned from this hotel, we spent two weeks there, i would have to rate this review in 3 categories which is excellent , good, and bad. Firstly the staff i would have to say that they are the best i have ever come across, nothing is too much trouble and they really look after you, i would like to mention a few members of staff, they are the barmen, Trevon, Zidane, and Charles they were exceptionally good and deserve more praise from the owner and management of the hotel, nothing was too much trouble for them, 5 star service, also all the staff of the retaurant (Eloise, Ronette, Jane, and all the other staff were excellent) , i must give a mention to Ken on reception and the cleaners {digna and her colleague, sorry did not find out her name} all excellent and caring, the hotel itself is very close to a lovely beach and nice walks albeit very run down in areas. i am going to have to bypass the good category and move swiftly on to the bad, bearing in mind that we spent £4500 pounds for two people for the stay i would have to say that this is nowhere near a 4 star hotel, i would rate it a lowly 3 star, i will list the reasons for this: 1. the swimming pool is a health hazard and needs a good overhaul, i noticed black marks along the sides and the tiling of the pool, also green grime in areas. 2. the rooms are in a very sorry state with wardrobe doors not working properly, toilet pan not secured to the floor, lighting and power failures, with electrical sockets hanging out of the wall, the furniture was marked and the skirting boards were marked, the rooms need a complete overhaul, the only good thing in the rooms was the air conditioning. 3. the restaurant could do with a few improvements also, firstly the menu is only changed every two days, and was repeated for our second week, the menu consisted of a choice of 3 starters, 6 main courses, and 2 sweets, on occasions some of the items on the menu was not available or they had ran out of it. Also the ambience of the restaurant was ruined by no air conditioning {only ceiling fans} i was attending evening meals in decent clothes which was quickly soaked by sweat, not comfortable at all. this should not be the case considering what we paid. 4. On the whole i could not recommend this hotel to anyone because it simply is not good value for money. I would like to add that i spoke with the owner during my stay {ralph taylor} and praised all of his staff for the dedication to their work and the hotel, BUT, the hotel staff are being let down by the conditions that their guests are having to stay in, and also the hotel in general. I am sorry to sound negative but i cannot be upbeat about this hotel. Generally things would have to change for me and my family to return here.

Vegetarian meal options

30 Sep 2025
My friends are vegetarian and Chef Gregory was receptive to creating a vegan menu daily for them and it was well presented, the food was fresh and exceptionally tasty. The rooms were clean, although the soap blocks were rather tiny but overall a wonderful experience. Mahalia
