Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday - note it took over 2 hours on windy roads from airport. Hard working staff (with some who need to smile more!), near a beautiful beach with cool boxes supplied and free sunbeds, but not rated as a 4 star hotel. Service was slow, often wrong, but food was very good, particularly the fish which was of highest quality, but avoid the chicken curry which was a plate of bones and creme brûlée which was more like a mousse. Regularly ran out of something every day - bananas (?!), cheese, salad, Sauvignon Blanc wine, jam at breakfast, muffins at breakfast, tomato juice, coconut creme rum… etc… The swimming pool is a health hazard and needs a good overhaul, black marks along the sides and the tiling of the pool, also green grime in areas. No- one seemed to shower in the one beyond the pool before stepping in fully oiled. Some of the rooms are in a very sorry state - damp and flooded after a day of heavy rain, but air conditioning was excellent. The restaurant could do with a few improvements also, the menu is changed every two days, and the ambience of the restaurant was ruined by no air conditioning {only ceiling fans} but the staff work hard even though service is slow and often wrong. The hotel staff are being let down by poor stock taking, under staffing and everything seems to be slowed down and served in small portions of food and drinks as a tactic to tighten operational costs - commonly known as “shrinking” by all-inclusive hotels - not expected at an hotel which rates itself as 4 star. No Tui rep available apart from the day we left. Ensure you clarify any price with taxi drivers in advance - disappointing that the hotel does not vet taxi drivers that they actively promote. Might be nitpicking here, as we had a super holiday, but if they want to be a 4 star hotel they need to sort out a few niggles.
