I booked a package to Grand Caribe Suites Playa Los Corales, lured by its impressive 9.6 rating and appealing photos. However, upon arrival, the reality was starkly different. The actual property resembled an apartment building with a poorly maintained parking lot full of potholes. The curtains were tattered, clothes were hanging on railings, and the overall ambiance felt unsafe. This stark contrast left me feeling utterly deceived. When I approached the front desk, the staff was unhelpful and rude. To avoid addressing my request for a manager or a refund, they even locked me and my travel companion outside until I demanded either entry or a refund. They claimed no manager was available, and they couldn’t contact anyone. The front desk provided a WhatsApp number which turned out to be unresponsive. Eventually, someone refused a refund because it was after 1 pm, as per the cancellation policy - I don't know who it was as no one answered the phone. This policy, which seems designed to trap travelers into staying or losing their money, was enforced despite my arrival at check-in time. I was not the only traveler in the lobby facing such issues. I booked a hotel 1.5 hours away and stayed there.
