This is our first holiday where we have been happy to be coming home. It is a very basic/dated hotel, considering it is a Meliá hotel we expected a lot more. It did not feel like a 4 star, definitely a 3. The rooms are clean but quite small and look nothing like the pictures when we booked (we booked through tui). All the staff however are very lovely and friendly, particularly the cleaning lady she was so sweet! We found the food at night was not so great so we ate out most nights. The restaurant is like a school canteen but much worse. It is extremely loud and some of the guests were very rude (not the hotels fault) and would barge into you & cut in front of you. We thought the breakfast was okay & the snack bar was the most enjoyable as they had gyros, chips, pizza, pasta, nuggets, salad etc. The all inclusive cocktails and beer were not very nice and we were not ‘tipsy’ after several drinks which was surprising. The soft drinks however are good, they had 7up zero, Pepsi, Pepsi max, juices etc. My only downfall with the drinks was that there is no iced coffee included, you have to pay extra. The beach was lovely but not enough sun loungers. Hotel has 3 pool areas, we stayed by the pirate ship pool most of the holiday as it was a sun trap and had the most available sun loungers. We struggled massively to get sun loungers from 9am as a family of 3 by the two main pools. As an English family we felt discriminated against by the guests, I have never come across so many rude people at once! We received dirty looks and a vile attitude the entire holiday particularly by older guests. We tried not to be bothered by this but that was difficult as it continued the entire holiday which ruined our experience. The entertainment was very poor and mostly in French & German. The daytime entertainment consisted of the same 2 songs followed by water polo. There was absolutely no entertainment for children other than a mini disco at 20:30 each night. Our neighbours next door & above were very loud and disturbed our sleep the entire week. Our holiday highlights were our trips to Lindos, Rhodes old town and ‘Kostas village taverna’. Overall, considering the amount of money we paid for this holiday we would definitely not stay at this hotel again, but we would come back to Rhodes.
