Solymar Beach Resort

Please dint book this hotel ...i hear you asking why we'll here is why ..... We arrived on the 26th June 2025 for 10 nights... had our room swapped 4 times due to faults ...air conditioning leaking for one causing me to slip and fall when reported no accident book ...food was terrible ..no matter wot time you went in for food it was always cold and always the same food ..people in prison get better food in sure ... im type 1 diabetic so needed to be able to take food out the dining area when trying to do so they wanted to charge me ...hello ive paid all inclusive so shouldn't have to pay the manger was rude when I explained about my health problem he said plenty of hospitals wtf ...there is no entertainment in the evening or in the day ..your miles from anywhere even a local shop ...the rooms have no tea making facilities wot so ever.... this hotel isnt fit to put your pesos in never mind people.... SO PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL SOLYMAR BEACH HOTEL STSY AWAY FROM IT ....Guess wot im not allowed to upload videos of the food !!!!!

The holiday was awful! The hotel was not as described or the location! The 1st hotel room had a huge air con leak which covered the floor in water and the sofa bed was wet through causing myself to slip and fall on the floor causing slight swelling to my ankle, the wooden surrounds had been completely snapped and was sharp and splintered, the floor tiles had huge cracks causing the flooring to be unsteady and uncomfortable to walk on! All the walls around the complex was falling apart and again more holes in the floor’s making it unsafe to walk around in anything other than full shoes which again was not a enjoyable experience considering the hot climate in the country, the staff then moved us to a second room as requested but this again was a dreadful move and the room was no better the sofa was ripped the shower door was all cracked and smashed! The windows were full of mould and dirt! The food was not as described, as a type 1 diabetic i require food to maintain my health which was hard to do as the food was of very poor quality and was not hot or even warm! Room cleanliness was a huge disappointment 4/5 days per cleaning the room even as requesting this to be done regular because of health conditions for the staff to be very rude and not wanting to help! This really needs to be addressed as this was a 70th birthday present and 30th wedding anniversary which has been absolutely horrendous and a huge upset to both me and my husband! Genuinely AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

This Hotel is nothing as advertised in the photos. Though it is beachfront the water is imposible to enter as it is so rough with many huge rocks that you wont see making it VERY dangerous even for the experienced swimmer. We stayed a week and the flag was understandably always red so we chose to walk to Playa Delfines only a ten minute walk witch is less rough and cleaner. The food here is terrible we chose to go into the markets for dinners like Parque de las Palapas or lunch at Mercado 23 just a 20 min A1 Bus ride away. There you will find local food at a non tourist price and is way cheaper than eating at the overpriced bars and restaurants in downtown Cancun. The bus is 1 US dollar and runs often I recommend you pay in Mex pesos (17 Mex) so you don’t loose on the conversion if you are not American that is. Just a 5 min walk away there is a sort of Mini Mart that offers drinks (water , beer) and has a Chicken takeout inside that is great along with a Subway sandwich shop. It also has an ATM so there is no need to carry large sums of money around, just simply take out as you need it. Though the hotel offers All inclusive we stayed there through Air BNB and decided not to eat there as it runs you about 40-45 American per day per person. Just buy snacks and bring it back to your room. The place is close to the airport and though you will be offered a return shuttle from the airport vendors STAY AWAY! opt for a one way and take an Uber back the day you depart, much cheaper. You can walk off the airport property when you arrive and take an Uber as well. The hotel has no working elevators as it is outdated so you will be walking up and down the stairs many times, not suitable for older people. This hotel/ Air BNB is only for good for couples that just want to see Cancun and not pay to much.
