We have just arrived back after 11 nights at the Marriott- one of the most frustrating and disappointing stays we have had. We arrived into our room with tiny double beds, which we were unable to sleep in, and had to pay to upgrade to a bigger bed- make sure you factor in the cost of this because you will be upgrading. During this upgrade we had the displeasure of dealing with Marci at the front desk, she’s definitely in the wrong job. Our second room was only ever surface level cleaned and very dusty. I had to sweep with a tissue and take the bin out myself. When I did speak to front desk I was told that cleaning ‘wasn’t my department.’ The hotel is huge, run down and very shabby, don’t be fooled by the glossy photos on their instagram page. On the whole staff at the hotel were rude and we felt like an inconvenience to them. The spa is lovely, immaculate compared to the rest of the hotel. Unfortunately even this experience was marred by a selfish guest who thought sitting in the jacuzzi on a loud video call was acceptable- of course the far from dynamic staff did not get involved. Service on the whole of St Kitts was painfully slow- it soon wore thin having to wait 45 minutes for a bagel or coffee. Overall, we tried to make the best of the holiday despite the dirty and run down hotel but the attitude of the staff and locals coupled with the painful waits for everything made it impossible. We definitely would not recommend St Kitts or the Marriott to a friend!
