On our last full day at this hotel and it has it's good, bad and very bad points... Good points: - hotel facilities themselves are amazing. Multiple pools, food outlets, bars, a la cartes, entertainment options. If you can think of it they probably have - rooms are a good size, cleaned and refreshed daily if you wish and have complimentary mini bar. We stayed in room 8270 in the main building and the sea view from the room was lovely - gardens are lovely and well maintained. Whole resort was spotlessly clean - visited the Thalasso Spa as a family. Treatments were excellent and their handling and care for my 4 year old daughter (who was having a child's package) was exceptional! - lifeguards on every pool and doing their jobs properly - Indian a la cartes was very good, just don't expect a British takeaway style curry! Bad points: - Everything was done to cater for the Russian guests. We took our daughter to the mini disco, which she was really looking forward to as part of her holiday, and it was all in Russian. Watching her stand there looking dejected was, frankly, upsetting - evening entertainment didn't start until didn't start until 9.30pm and at the amphitheatre in the sister hotel. I'd have been dubious watching a child's circus even if we had planned to attend - kids club was similar to the mini disco. My daughter had been looking forward to attending but when I went to collect her after 2 hours and she was playing alone and didn't want to return Very bad points: - the food is awful. I'm not a particularly fussy eater and enjoy trying new things but you won't get that here. I expect that if we came back in 6 months time I could still tell you exactly what there would be for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chips and onion rings for every meal. Macdonalds has more variety!! - the service is just as woeful and at times has just been plain rude. After one such incident I vented at reception, stating that, having paid £2500 to visit, I at least expected some courtesy. It stemmed from the bloke running the bowling not looking up from his phone when I asked what time they were open and then getting agitated that he couldn't understand me. Funnily enough we didn't go bowling. We had a similar experience with guest relations. We went to enquire about a la cartes bookings and were told the restaurants were only open when the chef was in. They then asked about our stay and when reporting about the aforementioned mini disco, was told "it is good for children to learn other languages". Not really what I wanted to hear. Most of the staff don't seem to speak much, if any, English and some seem annoyed if you speak to them in English. - the restaurants are a joke. Having paid a fair sum to visit and given it is supposedly a 5 star hotel, it verges on disgusting. Don't expect table service, expect to fetch your own drinks. Last night, having visited the bar to get drinks for my wife, daughter and mother in law, I was told I'd have to find and pour my own wine, which I duly did. No water on the table as nobody to provide it. By the end of our meal not a single plate had been collected and they were just piled in the middle of the table, picture attached. - there is no TUI rep, so if you have booked through them do not expect any back up. I found this particularly perplexing given there is a TUI Blue next door Safe to say we won't be returning. The hotel itself and the grounds are absolutely 5 star, everything else is not. If you're visiting during peak time later in the summer, I'd be worried for you.
