Suara Alam Hotel Ubud

We are completely in love with this place! Suara Alam is a small, intimate hotel that feels very cozy and private. The location is perfect—you get a gorgeous view of the jungle and can constantly hear the soothing sound of the river. The aesthetic is amazing, with interesting scenic infinity pools throughout the property. Our room had its own private infinity pool, which was just magical. The interiors are pristine—everything is new, clean, and the bathroom is very spacious. It was a truly beautiful experience. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a chic and relaxing stay in Ubud!

We stayed here for four days ( our entire time on Bali) so I may sound a little nitpicky but I am trying to be constructive to the hotel at the same time being positive about the place. Firstly the transfer is about 1.5 hours due to Indonesian roads and traffic. It is also about 40 mins walk from Ubud central (downhill) so if you crave nightlife it maybe a little quiet for you. Set a little back from the road the hotel is serenity encapsulated. One small criticism is the pile of rotting bin bags at the top of the driveway. The staff are lovely and very happy to help. The rooms are compact with very little room for luggage but they do give you a lovely view of the paddy fields or jungle. Netflix on the TV is a nice touch and there are plenty of USB charging points for all your electrical necessities. There are ten options for breakfast that must be booked the night before. I must say all the ones we tried were exceptional ( the chicken soup one and the western style one in particular). Didn't try the regular menu as we prefered to try other places. Hire a driver for the day and you are ideally located for the central Balinese sights. The pool was very small but clean. In fact everything was very clean. Location aside this is a great place to stay. Hotel does scooter hire. For good local food the restaurant opposite the end of the drive is super friendly and provides an budget friendly alternative. Balinese coffee is delicious and everywhere.

This is advertised everywhere as a five star hotel and they charge as much as other five star hotels, but it is at best a three star boutique hotel with absolutely no amenities or services or service standards. Do not stay here, you’re better off paying less than 1/3 for an airbnb that would be way nicer! Also incredibly loud, you can hear your neighbors and street noise.

I stayed at Suara Alam for two nights with my girlfriend. We had an allergic reaction to something used during the couples massage; the staff didn't help us resolve the issue; they abandoned us. We had to go to the hospital. After much persistence, they agreed not to charge us for the massages. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL. The rooms are tiny; once you open your bags, there's no room to move. The bathroom is open to the room, so there's no privacy. If someone gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, it wakes up the person sleeping because turning on the lights illuminates the entire room. Furthermore, in the room I stayed in, to get to one side of the bed, you had to climb over the other person. The bathroom is tiny, and there's not even room to hang two towels at once. The light fixtures are so low that you bump your head when moving around the room. The hotel invited us for dinner; after looking at the menu, we accepted. We ordered dinner after about half an hour; of the eight dishes on the menu, three were unavailable. So we had to order the only things they had: chicken and rice.

The staff here are simply wonderful and can’t do enough for you. The design of the hotel and usage of space is very well done and helps add to the stay. Good food options too, just be warned about arriving in a car as the drive is extremely narrow.
