We stayed at Sudamala Resort in Sanur and were immediately charmed by the setting. The location is ideal — peaceful, yet close to everything. The hotel has a warm and authentic atmosphere, with tasteful decoration and lush greenery throughout. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and the garden is truly stunning. The restaurant is also well situated and adds to the overall charm. However, one major issue impacted our stay: cleanliness. Despite the beauty of the surroundings, there was a clear lack of attention to cleaning. Towels were not always fresh, bed sheets appeared unclean and stained, the floors were not properly cleaned, and lot of dust was visible on decorative items. We repeatedly asked the reception to clean the bathroom/toilet floor, where stains could easily be removed with just water (suspicious stain to say the least) — but nothing was done. Similarly, we had to ask several times for bottled water, which is essential and normally provided per hotel policy, since tap water isn’t recommended for tourists. In summary, this is a beautiful hotel, full of charm and well priced for the location. But the management urgently needs to ensure the housekeeping team is better supervised. It would truly make the difference between a pleasant stay… and a perfect one.
