Just returned from a 7 night stay. Hotel was very nice, well kept gardens and rooms were clean and very traditional. Food was very good. However, when the hotel was busy, the wait for a table was quite long as they only had a limited number of tables even though you needed to pre-book a table for dinner. Some nights they served a buffet in the Saddle bar which was ok if they told you it was a buffet. We got there at 8:30pm as per our booking and still had to wait, then eventually when we realised it was a buffet, most of the food had gone. The drinks are not that good, vodka & gin are not great and the tonic was awful. Bar closes really early, You would be lucky to get a drink after dinner was finished. Entertainment was ok but that finished about 9:30pm. Not a location for people wanting a lively evening and a late drink. Some of the staff were rude and abrupt, they just looked like they didn't want to be there, however Rohan was lovely, very friendly and came and asked if you wanted a drink and was always cheerful. The free glass bottom boat trip was good and we saw a couple of turtle. Don't bother getting the free bus to the beach as the sea was in and there are no sunbeds or facilities. Both times we went to the beach we had to go into Speight Town and pay for sunbeds from one of the local beach bars. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't go back. Apparently, it was 60% full, I dread to think what the service would be like if it was 99% occupied.
