Sun Island Boutique Villas & Spa Seminyak

We got 3 deluxe pool villas! All three couples were very happy with their stay and the hospitality from staff was amazing- made all of us feel welcome and very comfortable. Would recommend

We had a great time at Sun Island Villa. We had the deluxe pool room. Whilst it is a little tired with its floors, the room was clean, large and perfect for our getaway. The staff are really friendly always wanting to help and serivce with a smile. The breakfast included was great and it was not a buffet but made fresh to order including eggs, bacon, tomato, hashbrowns, etc with alslo the options that included danishes, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juices. We had no problem with noise other than a rooster that was at the property behind. The atmosphere is very serene and relaxing. We used the day spa for a massage and it was good and clean. There was also a good mixture of shade and sun at all times of the day. Location was great and an easy walk to the beach.

I wish I had seen a review like this before booking Sun Island Boutique Villa & Spa. I would have skipped this completely. There are so many better and cleaner options in Seminyak. For starters, the room was filthy. As you can see from the photos, the shower and bathroom were covered in soap scum and rust. The floors were greasy — from what, I don’t even want to guess. The walls had dead bugs stuck on them, mosquitos were everywhere (including the bedroom), and the sofa was stained. I honestly felt uncomfortable even sitting on the bed, much less sleeping in it. I didn’t even bother using the private pool — if the room was that poorly maintained, I couldn’t trust the cleanliness of the water. We had booked our first night and last two nights in Seminyak here. After the first night’s nightmare, we immediately decided to cancel the remaining stay and look for another hotel. Unfortunately, they have a strict no-cancellation, no-refund policy when booked through Trip.com. So even if you check out early, they’ll still keep your money. Travelers, please read the fine print carefully — learn from my mistake. Now, to be fair, there were some redeeming qualities. The massage at their spa was surprisingly great — relaxing, affordable, and delivered with friendly service. I would actually go back just for the massage, but I would never stay overnight again. Bali is full of beautiful, clean, and serene villas — this just isn’t one of them. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere.

Exceptional Stay – Our Favourite Villa in Bali So Far! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yes the villas may appear a bit dated but look beyond this and see the wonderful staff, location and excellent service. We stayed in the Deluxe Pool Villa (One Bedroom) at Sun Island Boutique Villas for a week leading up to Easter, and without a doubt, this has been the best villa we’ve stayed in across our five visits to Bali. There are so many reasons we’d recommend staying here: Location – perfect. Right in the heart of Seminyak, just a short walk to great shops (especially for clothes), Bintang Supermarket, amazing restaurants, and fun bars like The Stonewall Bar (highly recommend the drag shows!). Everything you could want is close by, yet the villa itself feels like a private, peaceful escape. The staff were all lovely – friendly, professional, and always smiling. A special mention to Putu Anika at reception, who went above and beyond to assist us when we arrived. He was incredibly helpful and made us feel so welcome from the very start. The vibe of the villa complex is calm, relaxing, and just beautiful. It’s the perfect place to unwind, and our villa was always immaculately cleaned by the housekeeping team. We truly loved our stay and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone wanting comfort, convenience, and outstanding service in Seminyak.

We stayed in a Deluxe Pool Villa at Sun Island Boutique Villas for one week and absolutely loved it. Highly recommended and 100% worth the upgrade! This was our fifth time in Seminyak/Bali, and hands down, this is the best place we've stayed so far. While some reviews mention the villas might need updating, we actually found the property charming and full of Balinese character. The Deluxe Villa is spacious and comfortable, with an indoor kitchen—a feature we really appreciated. It felt more like a private apartment than a typical hotel stay. The whole complex is clean and well maintained, with lush tropical gardens that create a peaceful, relaxing vibe throughout. There's something special about the ambience here that really sets it apart. The staff were exceptional, especially Putu Anik at reception. We put his customer service skills to the test a couple of times during our stay, and he truly went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The team at the restaurant/bar by the pool were equally wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and always ready with a smile. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, which was included and had great variety. We’ve already decided: when we return to Bali for Christmas, we’ll definitely be coming back to Sun Island Boutique Villas. Can’t wait!
