Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

I have wanted to visit the Maldives for a very long time and so glad we chose beautiful Iru Fushi for our family holiday. We were welcomed onto the island from the sea plane by our amazing butler Hnin who looked after us so well over the 2 weeks. Hnin kept in touch with us every day via Whats App letting us know what activities were on and providing buggy rides to and from the restaurants for dinner every evening. Nothing was too much trouble and she even arranged a special celebration for us as it was our 15th wedding anniversary. We stayed in an over water villa which was just simply stunning. Snorkelling direct from the villa was amazing, so much to see and we enjoyed snorkelling on the nemo house reef too. We ate at Trio, Bamboo, Flavours and Taste of India al la carte restaurants which were all great (book in advance). Iru buffet restaurant also good. Fluid family pool bar was our favourite for lunch. Lots of choice and excellent service, special thanks to Ganesh who always made us feel special and remembered what our son liked to order (chicken noodle soup, plain cheeseburger and sweet chocolate pizza!). Thanks also to Ravender and all the other fantastic waiters at the Waters Edge bar who kept us hydrated at the beach with diet cokes, cocktails and beers. We did quite a few excursions, dolphin spotting cruise, golden sunset cruise, nurse shark and turtle snorkelling tour, local island excursion, sunset fishing. Seeing the dolphins was just so magical and snorkelling with nurse sharks an experience of a lifetime. Thanks to the recreation team for guiding us on these trips, especially Kaim on local island trip, very knowledgeable and interesting to learn about local life (and we were lucky enough to see dolphins on way back). Iru Fushi is a very beautiful island but it is the people that make it so special. It is the best holiday we have ever been on and I hope that one day we will be lucky enough to return.

Where to start with a review.... All the wonderful things that have been written previously about Iru Fushi I can only agree with. The Island is beautiful and well maintained, our water villa was super but what really made our visit special were the people. From our butler Hnin who looked after us from the moment we stepped off the sea plane until the time we stepped back on it to leave, our cleaner Nishal and Arjun and the fabulous staff at reflections who remembered our room number and order by day two and were always chatting to us and encouraging us (successfully) to try some of their newly added cocktails to the menu. We ate in Trio, Flavours, Bamboo and Taste of India and the food and service in all of them was so warm and friendly but a special mention to head chef Vivek and team leader Ganesh at taste of India who went off menu to accommodate a request for both my wife and I. As we were celebrating a special anniversary, we booked a session with the photographer to capture some the beauty of the Island. My wife and I are a bit self conscious when getting our photo taken but Awf was so friendly and engaging that he had us totally at ease and when we saw the finished product, it will help cement the amazing memories we have of our time at Iru Fushi. We are already looking to plan for our return to the Island!

We had the most wonderful stay at Maldives Iru Fushi and cannot praise the staff and service highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, and the team went above and beyond to make our family holiday truly special. A special mention must go to Vivek, the chef at Taste of India, who was absolutely amazing. He went out of his way to cater to all of our food requirements, which meant so much to us, especially as our daughter is a very fussy eater. His patience, flexibility and willingness to accommodate her made mealtimes so much easier and more enjoyable for the whole family. He truly made us feel looked after. Ganesh and Ashen were also incredible and consistently provided such warm, attentive service throughout our stay. Their kindness and professionalism really stood out. Our butler, Hnin, was fantastic. She was incredibly helpful and always responded quickly to all of our questions via WhatsApp. We particularly appreciated receiving our daily itinerary early each morning, so we knew exactly what was planned for the day. She made everything feel effortless and was always one step ahead. Hnin also arranged a beautiful family photoshoot with Zahir, and we are so glad she did. Zahir was amazing and made the experience so enjoyable. He captured some truly special moments for us, and we now have wonderful memories of our paradise holiday that we will treasure forever. We also want to give a special thank you to Nischal, our room attendant, who was really good throughout our stay. Our room was spotless every single day, and we especially loved coming back to enjoy the evening turndown service prepared by him. His attention to detail made our stay even more comfortable, so thank you, Nischal, for taking such great care of our room. We also had a fantastic experience at Italian Trio, where Mateo was fabulous. He treated us so well, was great fun and kept us entertained with his jokes and wonderful personality. His friendly approach really added to our evening. Overall, Maldives Iru Fushi is a truly special place, but it is the people who make the experience unforgettable. The level of service, genuine kindness and attention to detail from the staff were exceptional. We felt incredibly well cared for throughout our stay and would happily return. A huge thank you to Vivek, Ganesh, Ashen, Hnin, Zahir, Mateo, Nischal, and everyone else who made our family holiday in paradise so memorable. We absolutely loved our time at Iru Fushi and will leave with some very special memories!
