Sunny Villas Apartments

Absolutely recommend this lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and will give you lots of useful information about transport/restaurants/trips/and getting around the island by foot. Nothing is too much trouble , they are very accommodating and made our stay perfect with some lovely extra touches. The room is clean and airy and well looked after. As previously seen on here, there are an awful lot of steps , but your luggage is taken to your room for you and breakfast delivered to your room every morning. You make your choice the night before and it is freshly prepared and brought to you at a time of your choice. Such a lovely and useful idea as it helps you plan your day without having to wait for a table etc. Clean towels and room cleaned daily and also beach towels too. The location is perfect. Not too busy like some other resorts , but enough near by to do. Lots of restaurant choices and a small dessert cafe just a few steps away which serves the most delicious pancakes . The views are out of this world. The best place for watching the sunset without too many people around. Having said that we have just returned and it’s mid May, so may be busier during the high season, but even then, you can see it all from the room. Will definitely return to this lovely hotel and would recommend it 100%.

Not recommended! My flight was cancelled due to a strike in Greece and there were no available flights until 4-5 days later which I could not do. This hotel is appalling and did not empathise with me at all. For this reason, I would advise others NOT to stay at this hotel as you won’t get your money back or even part of it if there were circumstances beyond your control that effected you getting there in the first place. Stay away from this hotel!

While my family and I were really excited to go on our trip to Santorini and stay at Hotel Sunny Villas, this trip was cancelled due to the unexpected Air Traffic Control Strike in Greece on the 9th April 2025 which was our arrival date into Santorini. As a result, the airline cancelled our flight and were unable to find any later flights due to no availability, therefore unable to make it to Hotel Sunny Villas. After reaching out to Hotel Sunny Villas through the Expedia app to request a refund, they advised that they were unable to provide a refund and only offered to reschedule our check-in by a day. This wasn’t accepted on our end as we were unable to make any flights to Santorini due to no availability. We found it very unfair that due to a situation beyond our control, we were unable to be compensated. I even requested a partial refund but there was no understanding or empathy on the matter. They were happy to assist only once they received their money, especially when there were concerns before the trip due to several earthquakes surrounding the island of Santorini. They reassured us that everything was fine to travel to Santorini and were happy to assist us. Once we were forced to cancel our trip and unable to attend, we receive no further assistance. Disappointing is not enough to explain how I feel about the service received from Hotel Sunny Villas. Please stay away due to the poor service and lack of empathy.

What a wonderful small hotel, ideally located with the best views in Santorini. The staff are all exceptional and go out of their way to make your stay special. The rooms are immaculate but the mattresses are on the firm side and could do with replacing.
