Hotel charges a Resort Fee of 12 USD per room per night. It is payable upon arrival. TAGO Location Located beachfront in the heart of Tulum, one of the centers of the Mayan heritage, this waterfront paradise has been designed by G Group Design and Construction with the collaboration of the landscape architect Pedro Sánchez. Sanchez designed the 1.2 acre property with a modern Mayan aesthetic that celebrates the regions Mayan heritage. At TAGO, guests will immerse themselves in nature and relaxation, with the opportunity to reconnect with themselves and their family. TAGO Suites TAGO Hotel® Tulum features 20 luxurious next-generation suites: four oceanfront with balconies, four with sea views - two with jungle patios and two overlooking the sea, 12 garden views - six jungle-side with private access to the beach and six overlooking the garden. All suites have private plunge pools, and patio suites have private access to the beach and butler service. The suites feature a subdued palate, architectural and interior design by Rennata Chain, lightening and illumination by Juan Carlos Martinez . TAGO Amenities Special suite amenities for all guests include butler service, an aromatherapy menu, pillow menu, 24-hour in-room dining, and in-room massage. We arrived at Tago around 1:30 and weren't sure where to park so we went to the lobby and asked someone. He told us to park next to the building which only has about 4 spots and I was worried about getting parked in. Check in isn't until 3 but they were able to accommodate our earlier arrival time, we just had to wait about 15 minutes in the lobby. When checking in there are pictures of a topless woman behind the desk which seems out of place. As soon as you leave the front desk area there's sand everywhere. It's a sandy path to your room. When we got to the room I noticed the picture of naked people above the toilet and that the 2 extra locks on the door didn't appear to work (not even the chain). There also isn't a do not disturb sign. We asked the front desk how to turn on the pool and he said he'd send a guy over. About an hour later my husband called to say we didn't want it turned on any longer because we didn't think it would take someone that long to begin with. For some reason he comes to our room with the pool guy, unlocks our door and just walks right in without knocking. The Ocean Front Suite is large however the furniture is beat up (the outdoor furniture is rusty), the glass doors don't seal very well so you can hear the music, dogs barking and road noise, the wifi is hit or miss and we had a scorpion on the curtain. The menu for the restaurant is more limited than what you can find online, I was hoping for vegetarian options. We ate lunch and the only option I saw was a chickpea burger. My husband wanted the ribeye tacos but they weren't available. So we tried breakfast the next day thinking there would be more options. I ordered one of the bowls but was told none of them were available. Ended up ordering a waffle which I could have made better at home. We did eat next door at Amansala which was very good! It seems like people either love this place or don't. We had 3 nights booked but only stayed 2. Wasn't expecting toddlers since Expedia says guests under 18 are not permitted at this adults only property and you couldn't even enjoy the beach because the smell was so bad from the rotting sargassum.

We stayed there for almost a week. Two nights before the end of our stay, the electricity went out in the middle of the night. We had to spend the night awake because it was impossible to sleep with the heat and whiteout water. We went hours not being able to use the toilet or get a shower when it was almos 90 degrees. The next morning the receptionist told us that they didn’t have an estimate of when the power was going to come back. We requested a refund because we had to go to another hotel. They said that it was ok, that they will refund us. Nothing happen after, nobody answered us, and nobody answers our emails or calls. We had to denounced them to our bank so what we paid was adjusted. We are still disputing it. Besides that, the “continental breakfast” is coffee, a plate of fruit and a plate of bread. It doesn’t have a swimming pool. There many other offerings in Tulum that have much better amenities and service. Not recommendable.

From all the photos it looked amazing! In reality it was disappointing. The room was good. Enjoyed the large double shower and the bed was comfortable. The bar had no atmosphere as no one really used it due to the high prices even on local drinks. The outdoor pool with looks large in the photos was tiny and more like a plunge pool. The beach bar /club was really poor consisting of a hut and old wooden tables and chairs! The seaweed covered beach was not their fault but in 4 days there was no effort to clear it. The staff were not really interested in serving the customers only the bill at the end where they just pushed for a tip even after just serving 2 drinks at the bar! Even for the included continental breakfast we were presented with a bill to sign and pushed for a tip? I found this tip hungry attitude off putting and made me less likely to tip!!

Beautiful hotel, but the experience was ruined by the theft of my jewelry

BAD : - Very disappointed that someone stole my jewelry from my room while we were out (felt safe, let them in my toiletry bag not in the safe...) I reported it to the hotel, but they didn't follow up. (No doubt about the story unfortunately... someone from the staff entered in our room...) - The private pool was very cold. - Food and drink prices are too high (though the happy hour on the beach was good). - Service is a bit slow, both in responding to questions and for room service (which already includes a 20% tip). GOOD : -Beautiful rooms (modern, big, well-decorated) -Calm -Private beach -Pretty good food at the restaurant - Staff is nice (except the one that stole my jewelry...)

We spent 5 days at Tago while visiting Tulum, and I honestly can’t recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived, everything about our experience was flawless. The hotel itself is stunning - beautifully designed, super clean, and with a vibe that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The rooms have a sound system connected to the smart tv and everything is very well taken care of, thanks to the wonderful housekeeping team. Every corner of the hotel felt fresh, welcoming, and thoughtfully taken care of. We stayed in the room with plunge pool on the ground floor which gave us direct access to the beach through the central garden. The food at Tago was another highlight - every dish we tried was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The drinks were equally good. But what really made our stay special was the amazing team. A special thank you to Andrea, who gave us such a warm welcome upon arrival and made sure we felt right at home. Carlos from valet was always helpful and happy, keeping our car shaded and ready whenever we needed it - a small detail that made a big difference. At the beach and restaurant, Carlos (yes, another Carlos!) took great care of us, always checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed, with a big smile every time, and genuine kindness. Noel was equally fantastic and hard working, we just happened to be served by Carlos more often. And of course, the housekeeping team deserves a big thank you for keeping our room immaculate and arranged every morning and evening. Not to forget, our favorite detail was coming to the room every evening, to find a small absolutely delicious dessert! Gracias, TAGO!
