Taj exotica experience. On arrival at the airport, we were greater by the Taj exotica representatives, who, after a minute wait, and a complementary drink, took us to the speed boat transfer. The speed boat experience was an exceptional start to the experience. On arrival at the port we were greeted in the traditional manor, with a Tubla percussion. We had to wait about 45 minutes for the room, though that’s normal, as they sanitised before guests are allowed to move in (Room 119). We were eventually taken to our room (Room 119), and on first glance, we were not disappointed, though we did encounter a problem with the toilet not flushing. After making complaint, a plumber was sent to tackle the issue. Unfortunately, and the effort the plumber put in to deal with the problem, the toilet was still not flushing correctly. We put in a complaint again, and asked for a room change, only to be met with a $250 upgrade charge, which I thought was unreasonable. The manager, later authorised a room upgrade, to a Deluxe Lagoon Villa with private Pool. We thought this was extremely generous of the management to do this for us, making this our room for the duration of our stay (Room 414). The Staff: I would say, they were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and attentive at every moment. The Accommodation: Built as a traditional Maldives hut, with a luxurious interior. We were impressed with the room in general, especially the ability to go straight into the turquoise ocean from the patio/veranda via a ladder, just an amazing experience. Food: Our breakfast and dinner package was exceptional, though for dinner we had no water, and would charge us for it. After a subtle challenge, the management gave us unlimited water with our evening dinner, as a complimentary addition to our evening dinner. Both breakfast and dinner were to Taj hotel standards, with the quality and taste of the food going beyond our expectations. To conclude, our dietary requirements were taken care of in line with our preferential taste, with the chef (Jay), making some recommendations, and ending our final evening dinner with two special noodles soups made specially for us, making it a perfectly planned final dinner. Beach and landscaping: The beach was kept clean at every moment of the day, with cleaners addressing any issues that arise promptly. The beach was spotless and clean, with the turquoise water extremely clear, that all scattered sea life, and coral formations being visible during the day. On the last, as we were about to leave the Island, the entire resort staff and crew, dropped us off at the port, and in readiness for us to board the speed boat for the Airport. They lined up and rolled out a message say ‘We will miss you’. I thought this was a touching end to our stay, very emotional. I believe I have expressed my gratitude and thanks for taking care of us both, and look forward to seeing you guys very soon. Regards Jayeshkumar Patel (Architect) Devangi Jayeshkumar Patel (Room 414)
