The Baray Villa

I booked a 5 night stay in The Baray Villa at The Sawasdee Village Hotel with my wife and our 2 young daughters from 23rd -27th Feb. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 very friendly and professional staff members called K2 and Boy. The check-in process was quick and efficient - we were even given hot towels and tasty refreshing drinks whilst we were checked in by the 2 friendly ladies at the reception (sorry we did not get their names). K2 and Boy assisted us with our luggage to our Villa engaging in light banter along the way. K2 was very helpful with showing us the amenities inside the room. I have to express how stunning the Villa is - we were blown away by the size, intricate details of the décor, outside patio and pool! The whole of the hotel grounds is beautifully decorated- it truly feels like a magical hidden kingdom. It is just as gorgeous as the pictures shown on their website! We had breakfast one morning which was well worth waking up early for. The dining area/restaurant was luxurious in décor with a wide selection of hot and cold breakfast options - continental and traditional Thai food. The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. In fact all of the hotel staff that we came into contact with were always smiling and greeted us warmly. I was fortunate to celebrate mine and my youngest daughters birthday here at the Sawasdee and I must mention a lovely surprise gesture that was left in the room - the staff left delicious cakes and birthday greetings for us both. The check out process was as quick and efficient as the checking in process with the lovely Kae helping the end of our stay be a positive one even though we were very sad to leave! Finally I would like to mention again K2 who always warmly greeted us every time he saw us, especially showing kindness to our youngest daughter. He is a true asset to Sawasdee Village Resort. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return in the near future.

Baray Villa We’ve stayed at Sawasdee Village a few times now, but this was our first stay in the Baray Villa. The rooms are duplex, the decor is very impressive, lots of attention to detail. There is a huge bed upstairs, with two foot baths at the end of the bed, not that we used them, the bedroom has a pretty domed gold ceiling, large tv on the wall, large bathroom with an enormous free standing bath tub in the middle, with twin basins, there is a huge double wardrobe in the bathroom area. Downstairs there’s a large lounge with a 2nd tv, plenty of sofa space, the jacuzzi leads off the lounge, with doors that open directly into the private plunge pool area, with 2 loungers on a private balcony, an outdoor shower, there is also a second toilet downstairs. There are 14 villas leading into a pool that is only accessible for villa guests. Overall we were impressed with the villa, however there are a couple of things that could be improved upon, having stayed in the Cabana rooms previously, where the pool bar is manned, the pool bar in the Baray pool isn’t staffed, drinks and food have to be ordered via a phone on the counter, which you might as well order by room service as the bar is sadly looking like it needs some care and attention. There is a great addition of a small gym at Sawasdee, but would love to have a treadmill available. We have to say the staff at this resort are outstanding.

We stayed at the Baray Villas and everything was great. It is a beautiful property centrally situated in the middle of Kata. The rooms were impressive and even more impressive was the staff and service. The breakfast was good and everyone greets you with a big smile. There is also an hourly shuttle service to the Kata beach but you can also do a 10 minute walk to the beach.
