We spent four nights at The Cliff Hotel in Negril, and it was a beautiful and relaxing stay. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and stunning views, this is a great spot. The atmosphere is tranquil and low-key, and the grounds are absolutely immaculate. The rooms are clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed with luxury touches like both morning housekeeping and evening turndown service. The photography and artwork in the lobby are also gorgeous! The food and beverage staff were OUTSTANDING and truly made our stay special. Big thanks to Lorenzo, LT, Andy, Romona, Demoy, Oniel, Dino, and Adrian—every meal and drink was fantastic, and their warmth and hospitality were unforgettable. The cocktails were top-notch (especially when enjoyed with that ocean view!), and the dining experience was consistently great. I also have to mention the BEST massage of my life—seriously! Huge shoutout to Laniecia, who gave a world-class massage that left me feeling incredible. If you’re staying here, treat yourself! There were, however, a few things to be aware of: Location: The hotel is fairly remote, and there’s not much within walking distance. You’ll need a driver to reach the beach, other restaurants, or attractions. It’s not safe to walk along the road due to heavy traffic and the lack of sidewalks. Arrival/Check-In: Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, and while we were welcomed with a cold towel and cucumber-ginger drink (a nice touch!), a complementary cocktail would have been better! Departure/Check-Out: Unfortunately, our departure didn’t go as smoothly as we had hoped. Although we confirmed our check-out time and private driver multiple times with the front desk, things were a bit disorganized the morning we left. It took some time for the staff to locate a driver, and when he arrived—about 40 minutes later than expected. The drive to Montego Bay was rushed and stressful, and we just barely made our flight. While the front desk staff was kind and apologetic, and we appreciated the effort to resolve the issue, the experience made for a difficult and chaotic end to what had been a relaxing trip. Billing & Charges: There was also some confusion around our bill at check-out, including a duplicate charge and unclear explanations about added fees. After some back and forth, the issue was resolved. It’s important for future guests to be aware that a 15% service charge is added to all food, beverage, and room charges. This fee is shared among the hotel staff to support fair compensation, which we truly respect. The team works incredibly hard, and we were happy to tip additional cash directly to show our appreciation. We’re very grateful for the incredible staff, the peaceful setting, and the beautiful design of the hotel and look forward to returning to Nigril in the future.
