Pros: The quality of the food Higher quality toiletries Rooms are clean We paid for butler service, it was nice to have someone to speak with about our options and book our services with. Things that are not known about like borrowing a bike from the front desk to go into town with. Without her I am not Sure how we would have navigated this hotel. If you are coming with a group, pay for butler services. Alfredo and Norma in the spa provide wonderful services and you can book them through a QR Code in the elevator which was very convenient. Our experience: The issues we had with this property began before we arrived. Shortly before we arrived we were notified that we would not receive what was listed on the website for Diamond members. Mani's and pedi's are not available at all and we would get one massage not two for the week. (That is not what we paid for, if we wanted less we would have booked at a lower level.) We also would not get our other excursion. They later came back and told us the massages were for immediate family members of the person who booked the room. The phone in one room did not work at all. Our hot tub did not produce hot water and two of the three rooms did not have proper air conditioning. We requested fans and were told that they did not have any, We just happen to meet someone higher up and he offered us to move to another room. We appreciated the offer. The property looks nice and clean but things are not being properly maintained. This resort can book up to 10 people in a room. This resort can not serve a meal to a group of 7 people. We are required to eat family style, the first night they kept bringing dishes out and not clearing dishes off the table. We did not think dessert was ever going to come. We were there about 2.5 hours and they miscommunicated about our reservation time. We were told it was 9 pm. When we arrived we learned that the restaurant expected us at 8:30 PM. For the first 2 nights we had to eat our meals on appetizer plates. We are allowed to order off the menu for Breakfast and lunch, for dinner we must eat family style. There is only one restaurant on this property so there are no options for us. We paid for all inclusive. The service is very slow for all 3 meals. One night when we came to dinner, in a time span of ONE hour and 20 minutes, all that we were served was salad. (The salads have very little dressing on them, and it is mostly greens.) We watched the dining room fill up and everyone else receive their meals and leave. I believe that because we did not have a waiter who was watching out for us and because we did not order off the menu, we were forgotten about because entrees were not ordered on their devices. After this incident, we spoke with the staff, and we were able to order off the regular menu for every meal, and we were never forgotten by the server or kitchen again. This solved that issue, and we wasted a lot less food this way because the family-sized portions are super-sized and we are not allowed to take food back with us to the room. At every meal, we were missing utensils at our table even if 5 of the 7 were present, we always had to grab off another table. A napkin, fork, knife glass or sometimes a plate were missing. Something at every meal was missing. The drinks were hit or miss depending upon who made them. The orange juice is very watered down. Water here is to be drunk from bottles only. I believe that the kitchen is cooking with tap water. (What is faster and easier to use, tap water or pouring out several liter bottles of water into the food?) About day 2 I began to have digestive upset that turned into diarrhea that will not stop. I had to make an appointment when I returned home because my condition slowly got worse. Eating the tap water in the food made me very sick, I have been to Mexico many times and I have never experienced digestive upsets like this in my life. My symptoms suggest food poisoning, I won't know for sure until I see the specialist. I had a transfer set up for my departure from the hotel. When I went to leave I was told that I had to go back inside and get a check out card. Both agents were busy checking people in which is not a quick process. A third person comes up to me and asks me to take a survey on the I-pad. I told her "No, my transfer is outside right now, I don't have time, I need a check out card." She calmly sets the I-pad down and walks away. When the man is finished checking in the people, he begins to wander around looking lost. Thankfully his co-worker who was busy with someone else told him that I need to check out. I would suggest on planning for 30 minutes to check out. My butler finally came over and told the guy that I need to go and he wrote down my name to check out and walked me to the front. The bell hops meanwhile put my luggage in the wrong vehicle and she retrieved it for me. Due to the level of service in the lobby, restaurant, and the food making me very ill, I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
