This is an amazing place to visit with your family. It is kids friendly and has a lot of stuffs to enjoy. The pools, restaurants, water parks, and the condos are great. Deborah is among the best cashiers/servers at Starbucks/Alfresco Market there.

Child with a swimmers’ ear & antibiotics :-(

The hotel claims we are the only one… I hope this review will trigger others to come forward. We stayed at Grove for 9 nights end of May and spend lot of time at the pools with our two children. My daughter, age 8, developed worst pain ever in her ear towards the end of stay, the last 3 nights of our holiday were far from pleasant. She was diagnosed with swimmers’ ear which is caused by bacteria infection. She was subscribed with antibiotics. This was her first ever ear infection and she attend swimming lessons on weekly basis. On hindsight, we never saw anyone during the day taking water samples from the pool. Something I’d expect (and have seen in other establishments claiming to be ranked 4* and over,) to take place regularly, especially during busy & hot season. What shocked me was the total COLDNESS and lack of empathy from the on duty the hotel manager when I reported this. We did get an extended checkout time on our last day but that’s it. Not even at the check-out, no-one asked how she was doing or anything. Hotel mngt was more interested in getting an incident report completed by the hotel security, to no doubt with an aim to cover themselves from potential lawsuit further down the line, or even get money from the pool servicing company. The security guy who came to our room (!) to inspect our story very friendly but also intrusive, he would have wanted to take a picture of our daughters’ ear!! We provided the evidence (we know we did not have to) including the doctors reports, copies of the prescription she received but we never received the copy of the testimonial we had to hand write for them, although it was promised to us on the same day via email. Now, let’s see if I am going to receive the same standard reply from the hotel management as every other response negative review here does: “Thank you for your review. We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. Your comments have been noted and will be addressed. We hope to welcome you back for a better experience..” Copy paste replies like these speak volume on its own on how the place is been run and may just trip me over the edge to pursue this matter further… There are other matters in this hotel which also fell short on our expectations, the place is filthy in many areas especially the carpets, but ending up with a child with antibiotics has left us feeling incredible betrayed and sad about this trip. On positives, the staff at the coffee shop were the friendliest ever. Totally understaffed and stressed, but always served you with a smile.

Extremely Disappointed — Standards Have Dropped Significantly

My family and I have been staying at The Grove for the past 4 years. What once felt like a luxurious, relaxing getaway has unfortunately turned into a huge disappointment. We usually rent three rooms and stay for over a week. In the past, we’ve had wonderful experiences, but the past two years have been a steady decline, and this year was by far the worst. Upon check-in, our rooms were filthy. The floors were dirty, there were spiderwebs in the master bedroom curtains, questionable red stains on the dining table, and the phone was grimy, The bathroom and shower in one of the rooms were especially concerning, clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. We actually had to go out and buy our own cleaning supplies. To make matters worse, we were provided only six bath towels and a six pool towels for an entire eight-day stay. Every day we had to reuse damp towels or wash and dry them ourselves — not what you’d expect from a “resort.” When we called for fresh towels, we were told it would cost $50, and that didn’t include any cleaning service or even trash pick-up. Full room cleaning? That’s $85+tax per visit, and considering the state we found our rooms in, we had zero confidence that the service would meet any kind of basic standard. So once again, my family and I cleaned the rooms ourselves. This resort claims to be five-star, but the cleanliness, customer service, and basic hospitality are far from it. I’m genuinely disappointed, Sadly, this may have been our last stay.
