This hotel lies amidst gardens with a view over Nelson's Dockyard, 1 km away, and the sea. Pigeon Beach is around 800 m from the hotel. Within 5 minutes' walk guests will find various sights, amongst them two of Antigua's most modern marinas. Saint John's may be found just 25 km away. It is around 3 minutes to the English harbour and the airport is about 15-20 minutes drive from the hotel. This unique hotel comprises a total of 10 rooms. Air conditioning, a lobby area, 24-hour check-in, a hotel safe and a breakfast room are all included in the hotel's facilities. The bar offers guests relaxation and a chance to meet other hotel guests, and the terrace invites guests to enjoy the peace of this hotel. Here guests will enjoy a touch of luxury, history, beautiful landscape and tropical elegance. The spacious rooms all come with an en suite bathroom, a direct dial telephone, cable TV, Internet access, a king-size or double bed, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The air conditioning is individually adjustable. Guests are invited to take advantage of the swimming pool in the lovely garden grounds with its impressive view of the sea. The hotel is organiser of two of Antigua's renowned regattas (Sailing Week and Classic Week). In addition, there is a yacht show every year in December. A breakfast is included, on request a hot breakfast, and midday and evening meals are available. In the sunken outdoor dining area guests will enjoy a good dinner.

Lovely Stay at Ocean Inn Antigua

Stayed at Ocean Inn preparing for the Caribbean 600 Yacht Race and immediately after; perfect choice. Rooms were simple but very comfortable with a good bed, effective Air Conditioning. Rooms were very clean and tended every day. The basic room shared a bathroom (as advertised) but this was no bother. Good Breakfast served each day with plenty of fresh fruit, fresh hard boiled eggs, pastries promptly from just after 7. Easy 10-15 min walk to Nelson's Dockyard. Well stocked honesty bar. Most of all though, Robert and Annie were lovely friendly hosts who were happy to help in any way needed - e.g. looked after excess luggage during race; organised late stay/shower. If I went again would look no further for accommodation.

Tough one to write

This is a difficult review to write. On the plus side, what all the other reviewer said about Robert and the staff is absolutely correct. They make it a wonderful stay. Couldn’t be happier with that part. And the hill, well, we’re now about 70, and frankly, had no trouble walking to restaurants up and down the hill. It was a challenge, but we need the exercise; and our legs felt it afterwards.. The property itself is definitely in need of a lot of work. The room was clean, but definitely a downer with a ll the work needed. Our room did not have a chair, so to sit we had to go to the outside breakfast area or inside the area where the food was put out. A bit inconvenient, but on the other hand, it was nice to be out in the tropical breeze on Antigua. From a value point of view, compared to other places, the place was definitely worth the cost; the location was great. Just wish the rooms had been more up to date. Would we go back? I don’t know.

Great base for exploring English harbour

My family and I stayed at Ocean Inn for 4 nights and thought the level of service provided by the host and staff was unlike ever experienced before. They all go above and beyond to meet your needs and requests and we really felt it was a perfect base to feel like home in Antigua. The property is located on a hill and there are several steps down to some of the rooms but if this is a struggle I’m sure the host would locate a room suitable for the needs. Breakfast was great, fresh and suited the needs of all of the family. The place has an authentic rustic feel and I would recommend to another couple.

The most amazing views

We stayed 2 nights as part of a 2 week holiday. Robert the owner was lovely and very accommodating. With views of English Harbour and a 10 min walk to Nelson’s Dockyard. The room was large with a fridge and kettle. Balcony which although is very small has a table and chairs. The hotel has a pool and continental breakfast is included. The hotel is up a hill so a taxi or car is required if you have mobility issues. The hotel is being upgraded by the owner so parts are a bit tired but don’t be put off you will want for nothing. We had breakfast cooked by a renowned chef who had come in especially to do this for my husband who had just finished his Atlantic Row and I have to say Selwyn’s breakfast was wonderful

The Ocean Inn and host, Robert Potter, are gems! Robert is friendly, always smiling and always available to help in any way guests need. His heartfelt warmth and laughter create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Breakfasts offer a variety of juices, yogurts, pastries, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and cereals. Robert went above and beyond the call of duty to purchase plain, Greek yogurt for my daily breakfasts. Additionally, there was an honor bar fully stocked with soft drinks, beer, liquor and ice. The views of English Harbour from our cottage porch, the dining area and the pool deck were spectacular! We never tired of it. The pool was medium-sized and always clean. The deck provided sun loungers and some shade under one giant umbrella. The garden was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily. The air conditioning worked well and the TV offered Netflix, Prime and many other channels. Edgar, who works at the Inn, provided us with taxi service to town, beaches and Saint John's. Edgar was friendly, knowledgeable and a very careful driver! He was dependable and always on time. In short, The Ocean Inn and Robert Potter made this a wonderful vacation!
