Laid back style.

1 or 2 negative reviews gave some anxiety but our experience of Palm Grove was mainly positive. In fact we’re now missing the bungalow style rooms and easy access to an interesting beach and the many nearby quirky restaurants and coffee shops. Dream Beach for example is one of many places in easy walking distance (providing you have no mobility issues). Two quiet pools; lovely garden grounds and pleasant verandas to chill out; good food in the on site restaurant. What’s not to like? Yes, there are some care worn aspects like missing grout in the outside shower and maintenance issues like our shower lever falling off but everything worked ok just in the laid back style of Nusa Lembongan. The island does not have many of the services and facilities we can take for granted in the west. Accept the charm of the island and Palm Grove Villas for what it is and you’ll have a great time. Would have no hesitation in returning there in future.

Really bad experience

Unfortunately it was overall a pretty bad experience. The hotel is quite dirty, but the worst was definitely the curtains in the room. The pools had mud stuck to the walls and there were always leaves inside. The bathroom of the room was outdoors, which works terribly with rain. The service was very inattentive as well: we booked a pretty expensive Nusa Penida tour with them, and the driver didn’t say a single word the entire time, didn’t speak English and didn’t even tell us where we were going. We explained this to reception and they didn’t do anything about it, they didn’t even mention it or apologise when we paid (the entire amount) at checkout. Overall I think the lack of attention towards guests really shows and to me that’s the reason why it was a bad experience. Staff was always on their phone, didn’t pay attention to the guests’ needs, everything was always messy, it just didn’t show any professionalism at all. Very disappointing.

Great price and location

Great little hotel with lovely attentive staff,rooms were very clean,comfortable bed and nice linens.Beach towels also provided.Fridge stocked with soft drinks free of charge which was nice.Spa onsite,book exchange which I thought was a nice little touch when traveling.They provide a taxi service at extra cost.Great restaurant right across the road,nice breakfast with a good selection of food,pool was lovely and always plenty of beds available.A couple of minutes walk to the beach with more restaurants and bars,Mushroom beach is really quiet and nice to swim at.
