Pleasant stay on the beach

First time at the Palms and we were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. Arranging a welcome champagne and cake amenity was easy as apparently they get a lot of requests such as that. Room was spacious and had a great ocean view though no balcony. I love the separate water closet from the shower and the bed was comfortable. Fitness room was small but equipment all seemed to be functional. I only used one of the ellipticals and it was different so worked different muscles. My only quasi gripe is the piping in of air freshener - a little overwhelming. The beach is very nice although we only went one day. Pool is also a nice area and plenty of room to go for a dip amongst other guests. We had lunch at both Essensia and the Tiki bar and the food was surprisingly good. Shout out to Andrea at the Tiki bar for being so friendly and just plain happy. She accommodated our request, twice, to get a bottle of rose from the Essensia menu rather than what they had at the Tiki Bar. Sadly, there were some down points. Upon check in we were denied an iPrefer upgrade as apparently the next level up wasn’t available. I get it but the fact that it was my husband’s birthday plus I have the highest level of status maybe they would upgrade us to an even higher tier. Happens with other loyalty programs, but not iPrefer. Also, I had to ask for other amenities such as the welcome amenity and food and beverage voucher. Never got the latter (or maybe the two free drinks because of the BD was it?) and the former was a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon even though I had mentioned a couple of times that Prosecco would be nice. I honestly don’t count this against the Palms because I have only been happy with one iPrefer affiliated hotel when it comes to receiving perks and I think that was only because we traveled repeatedly during Covid. Just a point of information for anyone thinking their iPrefer status will go far here. I was a little disappointed that for an eco friendly hotel they didn’t have reusable water bottles in the room with water stations easily accessible (within the hotel…you can get water at the pool and beach) If you wanted convenient water in the room, it was either tap water or $6 for a bottle of spring water. Overall, it was a nice stay. And I would like to say Dennis at the front desk was so nice and friendly dealing with me about my gripes for lack of iPrefer perks and helping redeem my rewards certificates. Great hotel in Miami Beach

We had a great time at The Palms...starting with the booking experience. Jonathan in reservations was so helpful when I called to get pricing/availability for rooms. Five couples stayed at the hotel and booked rooms. The hotel has a great cancellation policy in case a hurricane comes along when you're trip is booked. We arrived on an early flight and luckily our room was ready (just had to wait ~1.5 hours) earlier than the typical check in time. The hotel has a Cuban vibe in the lobby. There was plenty of seating. The bar was nice. The outdoor area was so pretty...very tropical (think lots of greenery, beautiful flowers, and lizards). The weather wasn't great while we were there, but we did sit out at the beach and get in the water our first day. So nice that someone helps you put towels on your chairs. There was bar service at our chairs too. There was a pool bar and lots of seating at the pool. The hotel had "fruit" water stations in the lobby and by the pool. They even had free pumps of sunscreen at the towel check out station. There was an Aveda spa that our friend used and said was great. The staff was all so nice! Very friendly bellmen. There was a grocery store/market a short walk from the hotel, which was nice to grab a few things. There was also a really cute breakfast/lunch/casual dinner spot (Be Bakery) a short walk from the hotel. We had breakfast there every morning. Uber rides to restaurants and places we wanted to go were very reasonable (think $10) because everything was so close. Very easy to get Ubers there. We had a great view from our room of the ocean (9th floor). The room was clean and had everything we needed. Besides having very little counter space in the bathroom, there was really nothing wrong with this hotel at all. I'd definitely stay there again. We had a great experience.

Excellent location and amazing staff! The loungers and umbrellas on the beach are perfect a relaxing day. All the staff is kind and helpful. Rooms were clean. This is our second time staying at The Palms and we will definitely return!
