Quite superb! We had 11 days here and were sorry to leave. A fabulous resort with extensive grounds filled with private rooms and villas, some with their own pools (we had one of these). The buildings seem to be designed in reminiscence of the multitude of Balinese temples around and about Ubud, making it a special place to stay. We had a two bedroomed villa, one for us and one for our friend. Both rooms were amazing, with the biggest beds we have ever stayed in! (Basically, two double beds put together, with a mosquito net hanging from above. Our room had a balcony overlooking our private pool and views over to the steep jungle slopes of the valley. Fabulous! The bedroom was also huge, with a sofa, chairs and table and a desk. Very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, really nice shower, his and hers sinks. The hotel has a spa, all three of us had a massage, really nice and relaxing and very reasonably priced. An excellent buggy service picked us up and dropped us off at our villa. Thanks to Adi, Supra, Teddy for their super, friendly, welcoming and engaging service! Now for the reception team. July, Amel and Laras and an extra special mention to Febri. All of them always welcoming with those beautiful smiles, rushing to help cart around our bags and suitcases (which seemed almost as big as them!). Always a joy to see them at reception. Also very patient and appreciative when we tried our very basic Indonesian and Balinese. Next, the restaurant. All the staff, and I mean ALL the staff are so friendly, welcoming, polite and courteous, including the kitchen team. Again, lovely smiles to greet us every time we came to the restaurant, welcoming and friendly. Interactions with the staff, their curiousity and willingness to talk and share about themselves and learn about us, swapping bits of language, made our stay really special. Mentions for all but in particular, Adit for making our cocktails and being SO cheery and friendly (cheers mate!) along with Ridi. Ayu, Nanda, Dia, Dea, Tia and Nia, Made and all the other guys. If I've missed anyone, I apologise, everyone is lovely. Bali has a special draw. The Hindu heritage is fabulous, from the abundance of temples, festooned with ornate carvings and vibrant colour, to the street stalls selling artisans crafts, trinkets and clothing, to the mesmerising traditional dance (you've GOT to go to see a performance at the Ubud palace, then have dinner in the restaurant that's in there, magical!) We left with special memories and would love to come back again. Highly recommended!
