The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi was an amazing resort. It was the best snorkeling location we had ever been to, and the best service we have ever had provided by all the staff of The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi. And we mean all staff not only waiters and bar staff but also the staff maintaining the resort and the island. But we have to mention a few staff that stood out and basically became our friends. Jaavid, Mi Mi and Nikolaus (I hope I got the spelling of your names correct). The Water Pool Villa we stayed in, was we think, the best location on the island. It faced west so we watched the sunset. But we also had the best reef to swim out over and snorkel right out the front of the Villa. It was unbelievably good. Swimming with Turtles, Rays, Sharks (Blacktip Sharks - not normally aggressive) and hundreds of varieties of fish. And the coral on the reef was the best we had ever seen especially at the drop-off (were it goes from shallow to very deep). The sea on our side did get a bit rough occasionally. We were there for ten days and the weather was not always perfect. But that was totally fine as we still managed to snorkel at least twice a day, except the day we left. The resort was so organised, meeting us when we arrived in Male and always being there right until we walked into our villa and then picking us up from our villa and being with us until at the Male airport escorting us to where we had to go for our Singapore Airline flight home. (we did not expect that) The staff were always available to help you with what ever you needed. And they were the most friendly staff we have ever encountered. The all inclusive package was perfect. We didn't over eat and we didn't over drink but we were able to eat and drink whatever we wanted when we wanted. The Dolphin Sunset cruise was also amazing. So many dolphins all around the boat and swimming alongside. We have nothing negative to say about anything at The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi. The Water Pool Villa had everything you would want. A large bedroom. The very large bathroom and a large sitting room. All looked out over the ocean. Luxury. There were a lot of water activities to do but when you are snorkeling over the amazing reefs a couple of times for several hours total every day, we needed to rest and there is no place better to rest. Sunset Dolphin cruise is a must. You can walk everywhere as it is very flat. But being a large island and connected to a second island - (Dhigurah), it is best to ride the bike they provide for free. If you have mobility issues, or just too tied from the swimming, they also have buggies that can come and pick you up and take you to where you want to go. Fantastic food and drinks. Great variety so you will always find something to your taste. All Inclusive package is the way to go. And if you are allergic to anything and you let them know when you arrive, every restaurant knows when you tell them your room number and will make sure all your meals are OK for you. They will change the ingredients or recommend something different. Amazing Service.
