Lovely hotel, a truly great stay. Restaurants pricy.

My wife and I came here for 11 nights with our two young lads (12 and 15). It is a wonderful hotel in huge grounds. Our bedrooms were perhaps the nicest that we have ever had, including in various other five star hotels. The hotel is huge and the hotel provides a number of staff in golf buggies to take you around. These were freely available and we never had to do any long walks, at least where we didn’t want to. The pool was lovely, although the beach wasn’t great (not soft sand, rocky sea). The only reason that we are not giving it a five star rating was the price of the on-site restaurants. There are four or five of these - covering all tastes (Thai, steak, Indian etc) but the prices were considerably (5/6x) higher than the price of meals down in the local town (which was just 1.4 km away - 5m in a cab). There were a few nights where we would have stayed in to eat in at restaurants - but couldn’t justify a £200 meal when you could eat very nicely, for a fifth of that, just down the road. Cabs super easy (Bolt or Grab, just like Uber). Never waited more than 2 mins in either direction.

Family holiday to koh Samui

We are a family of 6. We stayed at the ritz Carlton for 8 nights in a 2 bedroom terrace suite. Have got to say that our whole experience has been fantastic. After seeing some reviews and you tube videos, they don’t quite do the place justice! Service is amazing, the hotel team are super friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It wouldn’t be fair to single out particular people as all great. Our room had 2 baths, 2 showers etc super clean with towels changed twice daily sometimes, a turndown service. Selection of vanity products in room. 4 tvs, huge balcony. Breakfast buffet is the best we have had in 35 years. Would recommend the omelettes…. Fantastic! Ate ate the view restaurant where the food and experience was exceptional (it is expensive but worth it from my perspective). The hotel has a happy hour (free selected drinks 5.30 to 6.30). Where the hotel is situated is quite hilly but the hotel have a number of electric buggies to ferry guests around. We never had to wait long for one of these. Huge pool, tennis courts, private beach with kayaks a favourite. Fisherman’s village and central Samui in easy reach in a cab, typically 500B each way for us. Overall would recommend!

The Ritz Carlton Spa is a must visit

We are staying a week here. I’ve just had 2 treatments at their amazing spa. A 90 minute massage followed by a 75 minute facial. Both performed amazingly by Amy who is a first rate therapist. I’ve had lots of massages and facials over the years but these two were probably the best I’ve had. Amy is amazing. Would highly recommend her. Afterwards I relaxed with some gorgeous ginger tea. Perfectly served by Saan. Another wonderful person. Both people are exemplary employees and first class representatives of the Ritz Carlton Spa.
