We booked the most affordable room at The Saint Hotel, paying around €650–700 per night. While the design and view are undeniably impressive, the overall experience didn’t come close to matching the price point or five-star label. Breakfast was underwhelming: fruit tasted frozen, the bread wasn’t fresh, and the omelets were greasy and rubbery. We were also surprised to see a €50 charge added for serving the same breakfast on a floating tray in the jacuzzi—this was not clearly disclosed in advance, though it was removed after we brought it up. Additional issues included: €12 for a local beer (Alpha) €80 for a hotel-arranged airport transfer, which cost much less through Uber or local options A non-functioning door lock on our room No ironing board, no smart TV or streaming options, and a very limited gym A denied request for a one-hour late checkout on a Sunday, despite low occupancy Unreliable Wi-Fi that frequently cut out The hotel is very quiet and private—some may appreciate the solitude, but it lacks any sense of atmosphere or social interaction. Dining options nearby are also quite limited unless you're willing to walk 20–30 minutes. Most restaurants within close range felt overpriced and low in quality. One final concern: we noticed staff working long hours, from early morning breakfast service to late evening. Everyone we met was kind and professional, but it raised questions about working conditions behind the scenes. In short, the property photographs beautifully, but what you get doesn’t justify the rate. The experience felt more about appearances than actual hospitality. I recommend doing deeper research before booking—there are better values in Santorini that offer real luxury, not just curated design.
