We recently stayed at Sankara Resort Ubud, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the issues began. The room was poorly maintained, with visible cracks and signs of neglect. There were ants everywhere, and to make matters worse, we found a huge rat inside the room. The bug problem alone made it impossible to feel comfortable or relaxed. There is also ongoing construction on the property, which was disruptive and not clearly communicated beforehand. It completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere we expected in Ubud. The service was far from top-tier. The staff was rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. One of our guests even fell on the property, and the staff did absolutely nothing to assist or follow up. That lack of concern for guest safety was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, they try to charge you for every single thing. It feels like they nickel-and-dime guests at every opportunity, which only added to the frustration. Overall, this was a horrible experience from start to finish. Between the cleanliness issues, poor maintenance, construction noise, poor service, excessive extra charges, and safety concerns, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.
