We spent one week here, at the beginning everything was fine. But: that’s the most expensive restaurant in Bali, we were visiting many more fine dining but they were nothing like this one. Also the hotel next to us has tennis court and they were playing all day which was disturbing us and we couldn’t rest during the day.. finally at our last day we asked to stay a couple hours because our flight was late and wanted to checked out at 5pm, they wanted us to pay 1.750 000 which is ridiculous, because that’s more expensive than one whole night. They were calling us early in the morning like 8am to ask if we will need housekeeping today and then the last day they called 3 times very early to tell us we need to pay almost 2 million for the extra 5 hours we wanted to stay :)) very disappointed for 4-star complex, definitely coming again to Bali but not this hotel.

We recently stayed at Sankara Resort Ubud, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the issues began. The room was poorly maintained, with visible cracks and signs of neglect. There were ants everywhere, and to make matters worse, we found a huge rat inside the room. The bug problem alone made it impossible to feel comfortable or relaxed. There is also ongoing construction on the property, which was disruptive and not clearly communicated beforehand. It completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere we expected in Ubud. The service was far from top-tier. The staff was rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. One of our guests even fell on the property, and the staff did absolutely nothing to assist or follow up. That lack of concern for guest safety was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, they try to charge you for every single thing. It feels like they nickel-and-dime guests at every opportunity, which only added to the frustration. Overall, this was a horrible experience from start to finish. Between the cleanliness issues, poor maintenance, construction noise, poor service, excessive extra charges, and safety concerns, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Review (3/5): The staff was polite and well-mannered, and the services provided were good. Food was decent during the stay. However, there were some issues that affected the overall experience. The toilet was open, and it would have been better if there was at least a curtain for privacy. Food safety was also a concern, as ants were frequently attracted to the food inside the villa. Additionally, the private pool was quite deep at around 5.5 feet, which may not be suitable for everyone. Overall, while the hospitality was pleasant, improvements in facilities and food safety are needed.

Great time at Sankara

Excellent stay at Sankara. Stayed in a one bedroom villa with private pool and it was amazing. Loved being able to jump into the water whenever we wanted. Terrific staff as well. The included breakfast was great. Special thanks to Merri at the restaurant for making us feel so welcome.

What a lovely stay! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, I checked in around 2am and they made me feel so comfortable. The best nights sleep and breakfast was included in my deal. What a bargain! I had a Balinese massage by Dewa, he was amazing- I would highly recommend ALL THE ABOVE 10/10.
