Well located hotel, nice beach, misleading rates

We stayed for one night on our way to Europe. The check-in was very long. We booked through booking.com and we paid in advance, when checking in , they told us that there were additional fees or taxes according to them so we had to pay more for the rooms, this is very inconvenient and misleading. The beach is nice and they have a big pool. Breakfast was nothing exciting and of course was not included. The hotel is well located. Rooms were clean and they feature a washer and dryer which is very convenient. No drinking water is available in the room, but you have a kitchen with a full refrigerator. Don’t get rooms in front of the grills because you will smell smoke all day long.

Location was good because it was right across the street from a nice upscale mall. Property was in good order and well staffed. Lots of Activities and good for families. We liked the outdoor BBQ’s to grill own meats and fish. Food and Drink could be improved.

What a great place this is! My wife and I love this place, we have been coming for 3 years so far and will continue to come back every year. Our last visit we brought a group of 14 people and had an amazing time. The staff is very caring and service oriented and the place is great! We went for the first time in July 2023 as Marriott Vacation Club Owners and then returned in June 2024. We became Westin owners now too!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Westin Lagunamar — truly one of the best-run resorts we’ve experienced. From the moment we arrived, everything felt smooth and thoughtfully organized. Check-in was quick and friendly, and it was clear right away that the staff here are happy and genuinely care about making your stay enjoyable. Rooms & Amenities: Our room (385) was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed — including a washing machine, microwave, iron, and dishwasher with detergent tablets provided. Housekeeping did a thorough clean every day, fresh towels were always available, and the plush robes were a nice touch. The air conditioning worked perfectly and quietly, which made for the best sleep ever — we didn’t hear a single noisy guest during our stay. Resort Grounds: The views from the resort are stunning — ocean on one side, lush landscaping throughout. The pool area is huge, with a separate hot tub and plenty of loungers. There are also barbecues near the pool if you’d like to cook your own food, and the on-site store has everything from meats to swimsuits and beach toys. There’s even a Starbucks next to the kids club, which was incredibly convenient. For Kids: The kids club was a huge highlight. It’s active, creative, and super fun — my kids had a blast every day. A huge thank you to Jessie, Liz, and Ale, who were patient, fun, and full of energy. They made the experience special, and my girls couldn’t wait to go back each day. Some activities were just $6, and the kids even won ring pops from some of the games! There’s also mini golf, a giant chess board, and karaoke by the pool at 7pm — plus complimentary ice cream which made for fun evenings. Dining & Nearby: We appreciated the convenience of Walmart delivery, but also loved that the on-site market had nearly everything we needed. Across the street is an aquarium and several shops, making outings super easy. The beach had some sargassum, but it didn’t bother us — we expected it and still enjoyed our beach time. The lifeguards were friendly and attentive, which gave us peace of mind. Wellness & Extras: Daily yoga and water aerobics kept things fun and active. The on-the-beach massages were a perfect way to relax, and the gym is fully equipped and open 24/7. The business center was also handy for getting a bit of work done, and the Wi-Fi worked great throughout the resort. Don’t miss S’mores Night on Wednesdays — it was a cozy and delicious bonus! Final Thoughts: The Westin Lagunamar exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s rare to find a resort where everything just works — from friendly, happy staff to excellent amenities, a gorgeous setting, and truly kid-friendly fun. We will absolutely return and recommend it without hesitation. ⭐ 5/5 Stars, highly recommend!

Best poolside service ever!

I have been coming here for almost 10 years. The staff is very welcoming, especially Williams, Jorge, Miguel, and most recently Yahir. They are like our extended family. The service they provide is impeccable. They are incredibly friendly and are there to serve you with whatever you may need. I highly recommend visiting the Westin pool to say hi to these great guys!
