From the very beginning we noticed a complete lack of organization from the staff and a very poor understanding of English, which made communication extremely difficult. On the first day we decided to eat at the Tijili restaurant—big mistake. It took them 40 minutes to prepare a single dish, and they even got the order wrong. When we asked them to bring the correct meal, they told us that we weren’t the only guests in the hotel and that they had other people to serve (even though at that moment we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant). In the end, they did bring us the correct dish, but we had to wait another 40 minutes, wasting a lot of time we could have used for sightseeing. The room: as soon as we walked in, it was freezing cold because of the air conditioning. At first we thought it was just a random setting, but then we understood why: the room was full of mold, with extreme humidity that in just a few hours made all the clothes in our suitcase damp. We had to sleep with sheets that were wet and smelled strongly of mold. Services: the room key never worked. Every time we had to go downstairs to get it reprogrammed, wasting time we could have spent enjoying our vacation. Towels: several times they simply forgot to bring them to us. Swimming pool: there was a sign saying the pool could not be used. On top of that, they claim to offer a shuttle service to the main street of the city, but that’s not true. If the employee doesn’t feel like taking you, you’re left to walk or find a taxi on your own. Shower water: it smelled like urine or sewage—I honestly can’t even describe it. Last thing:the hotel had mold everywhere, even in the hallways.
