Time Out Hotel

I stay at this hotel every other year myself and my 4 grandchildren we love it, the staff are very friendly and fantastic with children the rooms are cleaned daily the food is very good and the location is just right in the middle of restaurants and beach just accross the road. I will be returning back at Time Out july 2026 i cant wait but no childten this time. I love this hotel and staff.

We have just returned from a memorable visit to beautiful Barbados and we stayed at the Time Out hotel. The hotel was perfect for our budget and the location was excellent for our needs. Staff around the hotel were universally friendly, our room was simple, spacious fresh and airy, it had a very useful fridge and daily housekeeping was provided. We loved being so close to the sea and the balcony view of the Dover sports grounds was fun. We were impressed by the unexpected provision of fresh beach towels daily, the convenient water refill station and a communal microwave. We did not use the poolside area during the day, preferring Dover beach itself and exploring the island but it seemed very popular. We were welcomed by kind and efficient reception staff and a bottle of bubbly and a Happy Anniversary card on arrival in our room were thoughtful touches. Tips: For a special treat don’t hesitate to book a fabulous massage with Blank Canvas during your stay. Kieshelle was amazing. Do pack ear plugs - St Lawrence Gap is lively at night (and early morning with the local cockerels making their presence heard!) so if you need a good nights sleep, go prepared! As it was a special occasion we upgraded our room. This was a good decision for us.

The location is great for bars, restaurants and beaches. Easy to catch local transport from the main road which is just a short walk from the gap. For me, that's been the only positive of our stay. The rooms are very basic. You get one towel each and one roll of toilet roll. The rooms are only cleaned every 3 days and towels every 4 days. No hairdryer supplied in your room. The check in staff are not friendly in the slightest. Absolutely not the welcome you'd expect. Our safe didn't work which we reported straight away. Nobody came to fix it even after going back to reception 3 times throughout our 7 night stay. The restaurant isn't actually part of the hotel. There were only 2 staff that were friendly in there. Lots of eye rolls and heavy sighs when you asked for anything like a drink or the bill. The nighttime noise is next level! We would return to our rooms anytime from 10.30pm to 11.30pm. The car park at the front of the hotel allowed what can only be described as boy racers have music blasting. So don't expect a good sleep. Not the hotels fault but the outside noise in general from the bars around makes it hard to sleep. As you're on the main road you have people walking/arguing at all hours. The pool is basic but ok. Plenty sun loungers but that's it. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again nor recommend it to family or friends.

We had an amazing stay at Time Out and the highlight was the lovely lady Debra from housekeeping. Every day she greeted us with a massive smile, making us feel welcome and the room was cleaned immaculately!! Thank you Debra

Great hotel for the money really enjoyed our visit in a prime location with all amenities around spacious rooms and kept spotless by our cleaner Savina who was a joy to One downside on site restaurant needs improvement with staff and speed But will return
