Toby's Resort

We choose to stay here for 1 night with our late flight into the area before checking into another resort. The shuttle took quite a while to pick us up at the airport after calling twice . The room is a been "damp" - needs a dehumidified and it was still noisy in the courtyard area after midnight on the friday night that we got there but otherwise the room and amenities were consider with the price we paid.

Great place to stay and be close to all the action without breaking the bank. Rooms were updated and spacious with walk in shower and great AC. The pool was very nice and a great place to cool off during the hottest part of the day. When we were there it was very quiet and although the hotel was fully booked it, did not seem that way. The restaurant had good Jamaican options at reasonable price. We were also able to host a luncheon for 24 people with no fuss or complications. They proved everything for the meal and even servers to make sure things went smooth. There was some road noise but we slept like babies after a full day playing in the sun. Lots of places nearby to eat and shop as well. we would recommend patties at the Devon house ice cream hut near the Hussain Bold restaurant and JR fried chicken (minutes walk) from the hotel. As for beaches within walking distance; Drs Cave beach is the best on the island but Sunset beach is free although not as secure. Definitely will be back.

Even though this hotel is at the lower end of the pricing scale you would never think so after staying here. The rooms are spacious , i stayed with my 2 children and there was room for 3 single beds , the bathroom is a good size with a very large walk in shower , we were on the 1st floor which had a lovely balcony overlooking the outside bar and pool area. There is a TV with which you can access the internet (very rare in my experience) , wi-fi through out the complex, some rooms have a fridge and safe , i know this because my sister and her son stayed in a room with these. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating nothing was too much for them , spent a couple of mornings in the on site gym and of course there are two pools there too. The food was very nice too from the restaurant and they provided meals through the day . It was a pleasure sitting on the balcony into the night with a drink listening to the sweet reggae music being played from the outside bar and then retreating into the air conditioned room to get ready for bed. The hotel is situated close to the local amenities and there is a very handy 'corner shop' 4 min walk away which is open till late. With the Doctors Cave Beach very close and plenty of local taxis always around i personally that the Toby's Resort is an unbelievably rare find amongst the central area of Montego Bay and i more than highly recommend it.

Great time and great spot a little Gem.in Mobay great and short trip from the airport 15 min ride tops unless traffic and can always use Northshore Travel group to get you there quickly without being overcharged. Staff is impeccable from Somara and the front desk crew to Mikey the Bartender who.makes great drinks and wicked tunes, staff is courteous and accommodate as much as possible.
