Don’t recommend

31 Aug 2025
Wouldn’t recommend at all. Everyone at the resort is Turkish the staff speak very little English. Turkish guests get served before you do even if you was in Que first . The food was awful and made us all ill. To the point my 3 year old pood herself at the airport at Turkey on way back home from having an upset tummy. The food is the same horrible stuff everyday . I wouldn’t go back there at all we had an awful time . The only positive is the reception staff at hotel was helpful. My partner tried to complain to the hotel manager about the bar staff but the hotel manager spoke little to no English . The kids toilets near the kids pool was digesting and my kids refused to use them because they look like they don’t get cleaned . Never ever again!!

Dont go

31 Aug 2025
It is an old 2-star hotel, and the main issue is cleanliness. I stayed for one week and never once felt clean when using any of the hotel’s amenities. The beds were as hard as rocks, the food was consistently oily, and the smell of burnt oil lingered everywhere. Guests had to queue for burnt meatballs and greasy pastries, with hardly any healthy food options available. The cutlery was always dirty, making me feel like I had to sanitise everything before use. Room service was non-existent. When I called for ice, I waited for hours without any response. The water in the shower was salty, which was awful for my hair. Overall, a very poor experience.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews, but also don't expect world class!

31 Aug 2025
Family of 4, just returned from a 7 night visit to Tusan Beach Resort. Having seen an influx of negative reviews prior to our visit, I wanted to share my experience. Firstly given all of the recent negativity I was nervous and apprehensive about the trip, even messaging Jet2 ahead of the visit to see about changing hotels! I want to be comprehensive, fair and honest in my review, and try to address some of the common themes mentioned in other reviews. I will start by saying the resort isn't amazing, but it's not as bad as some are making out. Definitely do not expect a 5* resort though. I may once have been, but it certainly isn't any more. Arrival: We arrived just after midnight. Due to the volume of cars on the approach road, the airport coach cannot fit down the driveway, instead it pulls up at the side of the road, next to the main gate and the driver points you down he road. It's around 200m from drop off point to hotel entrance. The guy on reception clearly didn't like working a night shift, it felt like we were inconveniencing him and didn't really get a warm welcome. Bedrooms: We had booked a deluxe double, it was adequate. It had a double bed, two singles and a travel cot. We didn't need the cot so collapsed that and the cleaning staff removed it the following day. You get a 2l bottle of water each day, and the 'mini bar' contains soft drinks which you only get one set of; once they're gone, they're gone. I agree with with the other reviews, the beds were very hard but I didn't find them too uncomfortable. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom looked dirty and marked, they could do with replacing. I don't think it helps that the tap water leaves a residue, so when it's been cleaned, it still looks a bit dirty. The rooms were cleaned every day. Pool Area & Sun loungers: The hotel has 4 swimming pools including the kids splash pool. I can only comment on the main pool and kids pool as we didn't attend the others. Firstly, my biggest gripe of the holiday; sunbeds! There simply aren't enough for the number of guests and people reserve them. If you wanted one, you had to be up for 7am to get your towels down. This is something I honestly despise, but found myself becoming part of the problem as otherwise would have had nowhere to sit. We witness multiple arguments between guests about sun loungers, one nearly ending up in a fight. The majority of beds were damaged; plastic beds were cracked, the canvas ones had the height adjuster broken on most of them, and some of the frames damaged on others. I read on a hotel response on a previous review stating that any damaged loungers are removed each day. This is simply not true, and if it were there would be no loungers left! Areas around the pool are very slippy, I lost count of the number of times I nearly fell over. The grating around the main pool was cracked and broken in a lot of areas, with some large chunks missing in some areas. I was surprised no one cut their feet on them. The pool area is a mix of tile and grass. Unfortunately this means that people from the grass area are walking dirt down to the pool area which is then turning to mud. The were pool staff on hand constantly trying to clean it up, but they're fighting a losing battle. There is a life guard, she was very friendly and great with the kids. The splash pool is a little run down, but adequate for the kids to enjoy. There is no lifeguard supervision here, and some of the older kids were a bit unruly, climbing all over everything and running up the slides. There were multiple occasions we had to shout them to stop so our younger kids could actually enjoy the slides. The parents around the pool did nothing and left them to it. Food & Dining Areas: The food was fine, just don't expect fine dining. Buffet style restaurant with a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Indoor and outdoor seating with the latter being the most popular given the amazing views over the sea. Similar to sunbeds, if you're not there for the start of service, there may be a wait for a table. Food-wise, there are a number of hot dishes, local cuisine, grilled meats and fish, chips, salads, fruit, desert. Most evenings had grilled kofta kebabs, and also a lamb or chicken. Being British, we naturally queued for food, however the local clientele didn't seem to follow this protocol and would happily barge in front of you to get their food. The biggest frustration with meal times was the amount of food waste. Guests loved to pile up their plates and then leave most of it. How much food an individual takes is not policed; at breakfast, I queued whilst the chef prepared a dish (it was a local dish that I didn't know the name of, but they were small fried pastry parcels). Stood in line for over 5mins, to then watch two kids at the front of the line, with their mother, take the entire serving. Their plates were stacked high, the mother did not say anything to stop the, just smiled and let them walk away. Meanwhile the 20 people in the queue had to wait again. I gave up at that point. We ate at the Italian A-La-Carte restaurant. This was nice, beautiful location next to the sea and the food was tasty. Only negative for this is that it could do with more lights, by the time desert came we were pretty much sat in the dark! For lunch, there is also the snack bar which serves a variety of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and chips. They also serve made-to-order pizza. Word of advice, these are two separate queues, so if you want a burger don't get stuck in the pizza line. The burgers were really tasty. Bars & Drinks: There is the main bar located near the main pool. This served beer, soft drinks, and cocktails. Staffing was hit a miss, with it varying between 1 and 3 staff members on there, however the wait was never too long. The beer was fine, badged as Tuborg. You get it in half pint measures. I sampled all of the cocktails, with all but the Margarita being quite nice. The Cuba Libre was my favourite. You can get beer and soft drinks from the other smaller bars too, in addition to hot drinks. Staff: No complaints really. Sure, there was the odd few who looked like they didn't want to be there, but on the whole the bar staff and restaurant staff were fine and pleasant. Bar staff took time to acknowledge my children, giving high fives and asking their names. The entertainment team were great. Shout out to Hakan who we got friendly with on day 1; he remembered all of our names for the week and would always come over chatting with us. Entertainment: The entertainment team put a shift in, working 10+ hours per day. During the day they have darts competitions (morning and afternoon), boules, pool aerobics and pool games. We enjoyed the darts. The only negative is that the evening entertainment starts late, with the kids disco only starting at 9pm, then the main show at 22:15. Timings aside though, it was great. The kids loved the mini disco, and the evening shows were entertaining. Our favourites were the acrobatic circus and fire show. They also have their own show/games ahead of the main show starting. These were usually audience-participation shows which always provided a good laugh. They had bingo twice, but wanted 5€ for a ticket. I found this strange for an all inclusive, so did not participate. The resort has a kids club. We only had a quick look in there. The equipment was quite ran down, but they had plenty of colouring activities, and face painting. Kids had to be 5+ to be left unsupervised by their parents. They also did t-shirt painting but this was also charged at 15€ per t-shirt. Anything with a charge, they wanted cash. There is no card payment and no cash machine! Location: Excellent. Amazing views out to sea and over to the bay of Kusadasi. The sunsets were unreal. The beach is fine, although narrow and again not enough sun beds. The pier is quite ran down and dangerous in some areas. It's a 10min taxi into Kusadasi, we paid 8€ from the hotel, and 10€ for the return journey. Taxis are available from the front of the hotel Other comments: The staff work hard to try and keep everywhere clean, however I feel they are actually let down the some of the clientele. Some reviews stating that there are plates, food, cups etc. left around the pool. Sometimes this is true, but this is because people are too lazy to tidy up after themselves. The staff are constantly walking around though to try and clear up. Final Thoughts: Tusan Beach Resort has its flaws, but it’s not a disaster. Manage your expectations, and you can still have a good time. The photos shown by Jet2 are not a current representation of the hotel. It is more run down than what it seems. It has a local rating of 5* which it certainly isn't, it's 3* at most. There is definitely work to be done by the hotel to bring it back up to standard. The views are stunning, the entertainment is solid, and the staff are generally kind. Just be prepared for early mornings if you want a sunbed! Did we enjoy it? Yes. Would we return? No.
